I know the tail lights on a S14 are very unique, but I have come to the conclusion that I want to get rid of the amber turn signal color on the rear. I was thinking either to turn it red along with the rest of the tail light or to take it out and make it white.
Has anyone had any luck with this type of modification ?? If so i would be very appreciative to know exactly how you went about doing it.

Thanks,
Matt

i'm pretty sure it's all one big piece, and without replaceing all the lights there isn't any way to get rid of just the amber "section"

Actually there is a way Go to a hobby shop and buy a can of transparent paint labeled "Candy Apple Red". Remove the tailights and clean the amber part with alcohol. Then, use a masking tape and apply it to the border edge of the "amber" part of the tailights. Three coats of the trasparent paint should do it. I did this to my 97 240sx and it came out perfect. It still blinks amber color but the appearance is red and blends right in with your brake lights. Made a BIG difference. I also did this on my brother's 2001 celica gts and his gf who also happens to have the same car. This will also work with early 240sx. Email me if you wanna see pictures or questions.

Grrr... I *hate* red turn signals, they're the dumbest thing invented since the neon. No offence meant to any neon fans in here, though.

Honestly. They're so illogical and hard to read! When you're going 75 in tight freeway traffic (hey I'm in LA) you can't tell if the guy's braking or changing lanes. It's even worse when they're braking AND chaning lanes... seriously, it's the stupidest thing on cars since "GTR" badges on civics.

That's why you paint the tailights (amber part) with TRANSPARENT paint So it would still flash amber color when you make turn signals. But in appearance, when the blinkers are off, they are red and see through with no amber in sight. It looks natural and stock. PLease read carefully before making any ignorant comments because "seriously you may be the stupidest thing driving cars since "GTR" badges on civics." For the people who wants to see pics email me at [email protected]
