View Full Version : front fenders: how do they look when pulled

does anyone have pictures of pulled front fenders? i searched, but only came up with posts on wide front fenders, not alterations of oem front fenders. Just wondering if this paired with pulled rear fenders would create a unified look on a car or appear to be akward.
I prefer metal fenders over aftermarket fiberglass stuff, so if anyone can show me evidence of pulled front fenders looking nice i would greatly appreciate it.

you don't really need to "pull" your front fenders, unless you're doing something crazy like 10's in the front.
a roll will be fine, a pull might be overkill.
i guess it would look like this:

Looks like the driver side is pulled more than the passenger side. It looks pretty good, but I'd hate to F up my fenders.

It's awesome cause there is a buttload of body work behind the paint.

I don't mind, cause with the URAS kit coming, I want the Fiberglass over fenders from MSports. These are to tear up on at the track & Mountain courses. . . Appreciate the compliment(s). Good looking out.

Pulling the front fenders requires heat, skill, and patience. The rears just require any chimp with a roller. Of course, the quality will vary. Just DONT try and roll your front fenders without a torch and a bat. Lets just say they tend to "wrinkle".

so you're saying pulling the rear fenders is pretty self explanatory and easy to do?
I'm looking to buy a fender roller myself and help out some of the locals who want to pull theirs...

I got about 27-29mm on mine. Very little rippling, almost none below 20mm. Tooks a REALLY long time though, bout 10 hours on each fender. We went really slow, thats how we prevented a lot of rippling. We also used a hammer to help flatten it out.
My current wheel and tire: (18x10 +11, 255's, and only -2 camber)

so how much is max pull for fronts?
S14DriftR
04-24-2005, 12:31 PM
I pulled the fronts of my S13 just a very small amount. Used a torch and the eastwood roller, it doesnt have the crease like my rears do, but just comes out a lil farther than stock still smooth tho. It seemed to bring the fender up a little bit also.

I wish I had some wheels that would require a bigger pull :-/

04-24-2005, 05:13 PM
Really, with metal fenders, you can pull them as far as you need, if you have a torch and someone who knows what they are doing.. the real issue is fitting whatever huge ass wheel that you stretched for, under your wheel wells. THAT is what the pain in the ass is.. if you really need that much pull on your fronts, then get ready for 4X the work on the inside of your fenders. My wheels are 8.5" and in the negative offsets, so the fenders werent a problem, just the wheel wells. So find out what you need, and if its worth it. End of thread?

04-24-2005, 09:13 PM
so how much is max pull for fronts?
not nearly as much, the metal is much thinner and more prone to rippling. I'd say maybe 10mm tops. Front over fenders are cheap enough if you want more than that, and thats the route I went.
Siizzzoooo
04-24-2005, 09:22 PM
when you guys are heating the metal, do you do it on the back side or directly on the paint? How close is too close?
What sort of devices are you using? A propane torch?
eyustfu
04-24-2005, 09:34 PM
when i pulled my fenders i used a heat gun, i thought it worked better with less risk involved.
You can heat it from either front or back, just dont leave the torch/headgun at one spot fot too long, and becareful if it gets too hot

no, you had to send him 350 to use the fender roller, he would ship it to you, and when you shipped it back to him (in good condition), he'd send you back 300. simple
this thread is 6 months old btw and several of the pics no longer work...so ibtl

Isn't that camber a 'little' bit too excessive?
black s13
10-28-2005, 03:49 PM
talk about excessive rear camber...
pre pull the rear camber was INSANE.
http://img167.echo.cx/img167/9237/21cf.jpg
now the back has been pulled some, right around -4.5 degrees of camber in the rear, -2 in the front. as soon as i can get a hold of a real roller ill bump the back to about -2.

Your car is awesome, cause it looks almost exactly like mine lol
Except mine's chuki, and has faded nasty flat black (been like 2 years since I painted it, needs repainted), and mine's not slammed like your's.
Same wheels though :bigok:
Oh, and same red instrument cluster too hahahaha :bowrofl:

Here is the only shot I have uploaded of my ghetto front pull.
The wheels were 16x9.5 +30ish with a 25mm spacer, so effectivly a +5 offset.

I have 15x7 0 offset on just the rears for now, with 205/50/15s.
I just received another pair of 15x7 0 offset for the front, which I am probably going to reuse my used ES100s in 195/60/15 on them.

Just used semi-flat black krylon spray-paint. Turned out OK...wanted to go flat flat black but hard to find bout 18 cans of those in stock anywhere. Will prolly spray it flat black once i can get ahold of a spray gun and a bigger air tank in the future. Only thing i love bout it is that everytime i got rock chip on my bumper....*Spray spray*
