Thanks

ok here is the situation...i was sitting at taco fucking bell at the drive through. I get my food and proceed to leave. I put my car in 1st gear and take off....i notice a bunch of white smoke coming from my exhaust! ...so im like ok, its prolly b/c i have no gas. so i head over the motha fucking gas station(money stealers) and put 25 bucks worth of 93 in my car. I let it sit for a while and pull out of the parking lot. My car smokes again. So i head to a friends house, let it run for like 5mins, then step on the gas...same thing, a bunch of white smoke comes out. My buddy tells me its b/c my piston rings are messed up. what do you guys think!?!?!

also i am planning on going KA-t in a like 2 months will this effect my plans if my pistons rings are fucked!?!

replace piston rings/ maybe pistons then your problem is solved... the white smoke is water... so there's probably radiator fluid leaking in the engine...

for you kat to last make sure your engine is in good shape or something might fuck it up.

what have you checked so far? check the basics before you get into something you dont need.

what else might be wrong is head gaskets :bite:

get another ka for 300 bucks. put it in your car.

starting building up the crapped out one for boost.

check your compression, check your oil for water..(it will be milkish color) Im guessing rings, Rings are actually not so hard to replace. but it might be cheaper to do what aznpoopy said....new kA

ive checked my oil and it looks normal (dosent look at all "milky"). I havent done a compresion test(dont now how to do one), but im gonna try to take it to a shop tommorow. As far as getting another KA and swapping out engines...umm, i dunno. Ive already swapped out 2 ka's in my car...that shit is too much of a pain for me right now. If its piston rings, id rather just get some bad ass pistons so i can boost the shit out the engine and not have to worry about it blowing up under high boost (~18psi)!!! Pistons are the weak link in the KA's right...please correct me if im wrong! I would much rather get pistons and ride my KA into the sunset!!!
thanks guys

Why would a low tank of gas ever be causing you to smoke?!

happened to me too ... and it happened at a taco bell which makes this story even weirder ... :ugh: but anyways , ya white smoke when the pedal is pressed ... i thought ah crap headgasket , and oh no piston rings , checked them , they were fine ... turns out it was my valve guide seals . and i replaced them , and that was it . just valve guide seals .

mine does the same, and i also wanna know why, and also, black watery shit drips out of my ehxuast when i step on the gas, orange rust colored shit used to drip out, but not anymore, just black stuff now, and the white smoke thing

Just because that was his problem, doesnt mean its your. take it to the shop and have them do a compression test, once you find out that your rings are good then it could be your valve seals.

ok, me and my buddy did a compresion test and we got 170-182 across all 4 cylinders, so im gonna go ahead an assume my piston rings arn't fried. Since my piston rings arn't fried, what else could it be...valve seals? Is there anything else that could be making my car blow white smoke?

what do you expect.. its 4-20... :keke: no really.... this happend to me.. and it was my seals... download a FSM and your set.. just read how its done..... and give it a shot.... try to find another KA would be and easier option... and the engine that came with your car you can just rebuild for your ka-t...

ok...ive done a compression test and just got done with a leak down test. So my head gasket isn't blown, but im still getting a whitish/bluish smoke out of my exhaust. It smells sweet. I can't tell what is fuck up with this engine? I am totally baffeled. I also checked the valve cover and everything looked fine. Im real hesatant to change my valve guide seals b/c i have NO idea how to do it. can anyone shed some light on my situation. Im about ot go KA-t In about 3 weeks and i have a shit motor....im sooo fustrated right now :( please help!!

i swaped out my stock injectors today and set my safc to -27 and went for a drive. My car still pulls like a champ. Im very happy except i still have heavy white smoke coming from my exhaust. I passed a leak down test and my compression is 179-182 across all 4 cylinders. I know my Head gasket is fine b/c my car pulls hard. I don't think my valves are fucked b/c the smoke that is coming from my exhaust smells like coolant. My car over heated for the first time in like a month. I added some water to my radaitor and problem solved. My car usually never overheasts however i do loose coolant.

later on in the drive i stop at the mall. I get out and do a quick walk around. i then hear a faint/whispering "hisss hisssss....hisss ...hissss hisss hisss hisssss...hissss hisss" sound coming from my front passanger side tire. It sounds like somthing is coming from my intake manifold... Do you guys think my problem fits what ive described above. (i think there is a chip in my intake manifold gasket). I really need some insight guys!!! Im still going ka-t in a few weeks and i need a rock solid engine in front of me... thanks for the help guys!!! Feel free to post your thoughts and comments.

as suggested by dream240

Okay to find the vacuum leak, get a can of throttle body intake cleaner. Start the car and spray the can into areas like around the intake manifold gaskets, the throttle body gasket, the various vacuum hoses around the manifold. As you spray pay attention to the idle of the car. If it gets worse as you spray the can in a particular area then you've got a leak around there. Also you will notice the fluid being sucked in and not just running off.

i get that hissing sounds...and loose coolant..its a coolant line that is busted/loose...it leaks out the coolant when you run the motor then shut off..the presure makes it sqirt out the coolant. i dont know how that would solve the white smoke tho.
