Those group b cars were scary fast... as much power as a dodge viper, much less weight and limited traction... They're the reason why wrc has hp restrictions now.

Very nice video...The accident with Henri Toivonen was very sad indeed. But you have to love the power those cars had in the days. :rawk:

600+bhp, 2400 lbs, 0-100 Mph in 5 secs, 4wd...just like todays A Final Rallycross cars only lighter. Group A cars (Delta Integrale, Celica 165 GT4, Legacy RS, Galant VR4/Evo GSR) were beating stage times set by the 86 spec group B cars by 1992. Can't compare them to todays cars, apples and oranges. Every car back then had a distinctive sound though. Even up through group A, Subaru, Toyota, Lancia, Ford, Mitsubishi all had their own sound, type of antilag...now they all sound the same. :wtc:

A lot of Group B cars, all forms of european/japanese touring/DTM cars, Group A etc seem to find their way into Austrian, German and French hillclimb championships. Here is the Berg Cup 04' teaser

the all out outlaw class isnt even as crazy as group B these days. i wish i was one of those crazy european pedestrians that was on the sidelines cheering the drivers/codrivers on :Ownedd:

but seriously, some of the most crazy racing ive ever seen comes from europe. fucking crazy ass white ppl

Europeans. You ever drive on their roads? It's crazy... I have a relative in Belgium with a older STi.. when he took me for a leisure drive in and around town it was nuts. Dodgin stuff left and right and no-one really cared. Everybody does that there... French drivers, though... :tweak:
