Watching the auto show on espn and damn dodges new SRT series are nuts. I so want the new dodge ram srt(viper engine). Could you imagin trying to drift that thing.
Then there is that neon.... im think cheap college car that you dont even think about when it pulls up next to you like you would a mustang/s2000... etc. Well the srt neon is a 2.4l beast.... I could never drive one though.. not much for the body style.
Then the new viper.... well we wont go there.

I would feel so bad if I lost to a Neon.... *wipe eyes*

Yay, what way to make the already proven non-reliable mopar 4 cyl better than strapping a turbo on it! I hope they seriously beef it up otherwise this car will be a bad joke for anyone wanting to up the boost.

in SCC it says it will be a 2.4 liter turbo with 200hp (i think). It looks ugly though IMO

Pffft... its a neon, the Turbo will only make the engine blow sooner... So instead of a 3 year life span, ,the car will only last 1.5 years! HA... Turbo Neon... what a joke!

One thing:

Front wheel drive + 200hp = No traction && Understeer.

Jezus, I can tell you don't follow dodge for real. #1, my stock neon was faster than my stock s14, peppier, and handled on rails. Great fuckin car. The reason that the engines blow is the head gasket which used to be made of cork, the changed that in 1999 and have had no trouble since. The new neon engine is a knock off of the stratus and PT Cruiser engines... it will be making 200hp at 6000 rpms, and the engine would spin to 7200, just like the old neons, dodge just kept it down for reliablilty and keeping the engines healthy for a long time. It will only be running in the neighborhood of 6-8 pounds of boost stock, however dodge has tested to 14 on the same setup with no signs of trouble after lots of testing. the car will kick all our non turbo asses, and has the same performance numbers as an s2000... not too shabby to say the least. Fin'e its an FF, but it does get the power to the road, and if it handles as good as mine did with a couple strut bars, then I'll take it anyday. Usually we sit here and bitch about 4 bangers and thier lack of torque, well, dodge makes one that pushes out 225 ft\lbs and nobody mentions that either... I'll say this, it's take us another 3000 to make our cars as faster as thiers, and I don't think a whole lot short of an engine swap or turbo will beat em, so like em or not, you'll be lookin at a lot of the neons ass end come next summer.

pah, 225? I have that much to the WHEELS in my 1.8T VW! Granted, I _am_ "chipped".

Dodge? No matter what you say, I'm still staying away from them. Same goes, unfortunately, to 'most any other domestic car. It's really a pity! Honest, I'd pick up a GM, if only they weren't so... well, you know.

BUUUUUTTTT, to each their own. &nbsp; <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

Actually no, unless it's a R/T (which isn't that fast compared to real cars) a neon is not much stock. &nbsp; Not to mention the fact that if you do make one fast, your still stuck with a NEON.
