Hey guys... and girls. I just bought a 1989 240sx coupe from a friend of mine. It's a piece of crap for the moment, but i bought it specifically for a project car. Only paid 350 bucks for it too! I couldn't be happier since I have been wanting to build an S13 Silvia (i know... very cliche nowadays, but I live in Oklahoma. Not many of them around here) for about 3 years now. It's got 158k miles on it... and a lot of issues. The KA24E runs pretty strong for its age though. I'd like to think i'm pretty well educated about the 240sx and its Japanese sibling... and about cars in general. I'm sure i can learn a lot from some of you guys... I'll probably have lots of questions. Don't worry though.. I'm no "ricer", I actually know what I'm talking about, most of time, and have never used the term "pimp out" when referring to modifying a car. And I'm not trying to build "some sick drift car" (nothing against the sport... but there's too many people that just have no clue). Just a big fan of Japanese cars. Anyway, just thought i'd introduce myself here.
Here's some pics of her. Proof that one man's burden is another's dream car (til I can afford the R32 Skyline that is)

Don't worry, I hate bras on cars. There was no way that thing was staying on there. I took it off after I took the pictures today. I just wanted some pics of exactly how the car looked when I bought it. That way the "after" pictures will look that much better ;) !

AWE that car is the sexiest color, Keep the 2 tone it looks clean. Plus coupes are the shit, haha I had one and I like them just a tad bit more than the FB's (which are also ultra hot)......Good luck.

first things first: sell the front end to a fastback owner and get what's supposed to be on the coupe.
ditch those popups, foo.

Looks good Justin. $350 sounds like a steal considering the shell looks like it's in really good shape. How's the underside...much rust? I got lucky with mine, she's in really good shape.
I wouldn't worry about how many people have done the silvia conversion. It's all about what you want it to be. I did a sileighty and could care less if people think it's played. I love it myself for what it is. Also, you'll save some weight up front by removing the 240sx front end and swapping with silvia.
Good luck with your project, and hit me up if you have any questions. You seem real down to earth. I did an SR motorswap and front end swap in my garage with no help whatsoever. The engine CAN be installed by one man :wavey:
