I have been looking all over the place online and it seems prices have skyrocketed as soon as I started looking for one. I figure you all look/notice people selling stuff all the time, and mabe someone has seen a site with a sweet deal on a carbon hood for a s14 kouki.. because I havent seen any for a little while. I remember seeing RaceonUSA having them for like 300 bucks with 150 dollars shipping, but they dont have that any more.. of anyone could hook me up with some links to some sites it would be great.

Can't say anything price wise, but i paid 500 for my vis from a shop because i didn't want to fool with shipping and freight and stuff, and the vis hoods rock!

you may be refering to the placement of the vent in the vented hoods. it's placed right above the radiator so you can see the top of the radiator. that pretty much defeats the purpose of a vented hood, if anything, it probably lets air around the radiator instead of through it. makes me not want to buy anything from VIS if they can't figure out the simplest things.

Anyone had any experience with the versus cf hoods? I think a truck or something backed into my hood and drove off so I'll be getting one eventually and Enjuku has versus hoods for like $400 + shipping.

They just dont give a damn if its functional. "It looks cool" and its the same vent on every single hood that they produce

copied products are going to be exactly what they are. . .COPIED products. It is not a matter of what they produce to cater a mass image. Vented hoods from US companies, carry the same inpiration that international companies hold, different perspectives toward performance, yes. And production costs, over demand play a strong role.

Remove your stock hood latch and it should settle in the middle and look fine, that's how it is with my kouki.

why does that ebay link say towards the bottom "ViS new Plastic fiber bottom structure ( light weight & strong ) ! ". So.. i guess that means it aint 100% carbon fiber..

Yeah my buddy has one on his 95 240sx se its the VIS carbon fiber stock hood, the latch piece doesnt line up properly, one guy said that the hood latch piece that is attached to the support needed to be adjusted to make it work properly. Well it's not that exactly easy too do, so sometimes he has to slam it or drop it from a good height and now he has stress cracks along the front of the hood from slamming it, and i even know of a guy running a 350z that just got one and his does the same thing, of coarse hood pins could replace the latch?!?

My vis hood fit great. Only place was where the hood latch is... caught a lil bit..... 3 minutes with a file and it didn't catch anymore.... but overall, prolly the best fitting piece out of the stuff I have..... it fit better than my bomex wing... wasn't happy with that... i thought bomex would have better fitment.

300 picked up is a good price. usually ebay people try to charge a pick up fee because they make all their profit off shipping. id pick one up tomorrow for 300 bucks.

Recently acquired an S13 silvia CF hood with FRP skeleton from an EBAY seller for $398 shipped to the front door within 3 days DHL with hood pins and mounting bolts. All you need is the hinges from your old hood. Weighed in at around 12lbs. Hoods pins are recommended for the FRP skeletons since the latch is usually fragile, not aligned, etc. When I used the latch, I had to push right where over the front of the hood a little hard, but decided that I did not want to one day crack the hood from underneath.

PM me for the exact name of the company if interested...

I had an old VIS before till i had a lil incident with it. Now im running a Seibon one. between those 2, i think seibon is better because the carbon hood isnt glued unto the skeleton like the VIS *unless they changed it* the seibon used a full coat of resin on the underside to keep it together.

SEIBON has nice CF hoods as wheel. Ive had 2 VIS CF on both my cars, both GRADE A, and the latch doesnt align. Both MSports for my 240, no problems. Took the stock off, put the new ones on, off I go.
