Seeing as how I know Nitekids and old_s13 personally, I'd like to have them back here, but I also know that their personalities would lead them to get banned again.
Henry tends to be annoying for the sake of being annoying (because it's fun for him to see the reactions he gets), and Mike just likes to fight 'the Man'.

It wasn't the license plate that did him in. It was making a new screen name.
It takes time to change a user into a pink users. Also, there are other irritations.. like an email from a reported thread, a couple PMs from pissed off people, and a thread that explodes once someone gets mad about anything that need to be read and cleaned up. So.. after the 10-15 minutes a moderator spends pinking someone for following our not-so-strict rules, what in god's name makes a user think that making a new screen name to get around the punishment is acceptable? If you build a sandcastle.. wouldn't I be a douche if I kicked it down? Same deal. I spend time to adjust a user to where they NEED to be.. pink.. and they "unadjust" themselves with a clean account. Now that's more work for us, and the user is terminated for creating the extra work.
To think one can do that and not get punished.. is insane. It's past insane. The user is a fucking idiot, and doesn't need to be on this board.
Ignorance is no excuse in law, and no excuse on this board. Fuck 'em. They're gone.

Such a common misconception that there's "Freedom of speech" et al.
This is intellectual property, Mark's. His rules (and RJF and the other old skool supermods), and his webspace. Who's paying for it? certainly not us users who if you think about it, are just taking up bandwidth that the management is footing the bill for.

If someone got banned for breaking the rules, that's their fault, I have no sympathy. Everyone should know the rules... and everyone should know the consequences, they're right there in plain text. No one has "civil rights" here, we're all guests of the owners. It's very simple.

If you set rules in your home, something simple like, "Please don't break my shit." Then you have a party, someone intentionally or unintentionally breaks some of your shit, guess what? That person is getting thrown out. Would you let some idiot,who clearly has no respect for you or what you've achieved stay without reprecussion? Hell no. You regulate that fucker, maybe even making a bigger deal of it to set and example for those who can't follow some simple rules. Zilvia is no different.

Let's try to remember this is a community for those with a common interest that is provided graciously by people with the resources to do so. It is not a republic. We don't get to vote on things we don't like. Don't like the rules? that's fine, no one would be mad for anyone leaving because they can't fit the parameters, just don't ruin it for everyone else.

When threads like this come up, it becomes clear that the service provided by the mods, admins, and creators is starting to become taken for granted. Being a part of zilvia is a priviledge, not a right. Maybe it's just my heritage, but I've never lost site of the fact that I'm a guest in someone else's domain.

We lock threads, Pink/Ban people to stop negative activities. Zilvia is not a democracy, you can't vote someone back on the Island.

If you have a problem with a person, thread, or where pinked/banned. Please use AIM to IM one of us. Just make sure to tell use who you are cause your AIM buddy names aren't always the same as your Zilvia.
Example:
"Hi this is 'X' on Zilvia. I have a problem with 'Y'"
If you can't find us on AIM PM one of us with your problem.
If you were pinked having an AIM discussion with the MOD that pinked you is the best thing you can do. If you are not sure who pinked/banned IM any Mod online and they should be able to help you to find out who did it and why. we will work with you.

Creating a complaint thread or new user name is one of the worse things you can do. We view it as spitting in our face and will take action in response. Talk with us so there is no mis-understanding.
