Sure hide the TT under your dash and put the SAFC in the glovebox

i think a piece of smoked plastic that folds down would be pimp OR you could engineer a cloaking device for your car!

you could toss the safc in the din slot under the radio, or where the ash tray is now.

or you could mount where u can see both.... ?
why the safc only needs to be out during tuning basicalyl
and the turbo timer dosent even really need a digital readout at all
i say put the TT under the dash w/ velcro or double sided tape and put the safc in the glove box

I mounted mine in my drivers side vent, operation and sight is perfect and it looks very clean, just use a dremel tool and get in there from behind, epoxy it in from behind and you're good to go. You will also need to extend the harness slightly.

When I had my S-AFC II I mounted it right below my deck in the second DIN slot. I basically took some black dash plastic that I bought at a car stereo store and glued that to the front of the little pocket that was there before. I then put the radio trim panel over it and that was super clean. Then I got some wierd 3M velcro and stuck that to the AFC and the new DIN face and attached them. I then drilled a small hole in the corner of that DIN plate so I was able to run the cord into the dash. Done!

u can also get the pull out tray off a j30 or q45 from junk yard and it fits perfectly below the deck under the radio/stereo on s14.. all u do is pull it out like change tray and wala safc all hidden! i will post pix when i get a chance...

My Greddy TT fits perfectly into the square hole in the center console right behind the mirror buttons. When you point it upward it fits just below the top lip and snug right into the sides, takes up 3/4 an inch of that hole horizontally so theres an option.
You could buy my turbo timer from Japan. Mounts in the same place where the coins go or console light dimmer switch left side of the steering column. Real clean looking.

Blitz TT's fit perfectly in the back of the s14 ashtray.
Theres a little glass square you take out to run the wire.
I mounted my TT to the headliner just under the visor so I can read the volt output at all times. (I had a lot of electrical gremlins in my lifetime)

^ I really like that -- doesnt completely sacrifice AC function as you still have the other vent and it doesnt look obscure in the least -- almost looks as if it was 'meant' to be there. lol Just out of curiosity, what os the other unit near your shifter for?
Moved my A/C head unit to below the radio and then installed my SAFC in the factory A/C headunit space. Then made a trim peice to fill the space beside it and installed my boost gauge there. super clean.

What are you talking about. Put it on 4 in the front and it feels like 1 on the sides!!! :rl:

Me 3, probably less likely to be stolen in that position too. Very good.

My recommendation is to try and use the little button slot that the TT from japan *image is up there* and have it push style and get an apex TT and just push the button and ur TT pops up and u can change it to whatever you want and then hide it...
The slide out style with a black cover below the cd/audio slot also sounds like an awsome idea

No offence but I think the SAFC in the door vent sucks. You'd have to turn sideways just to make any adjustments unless your left handed. And when you open your door in the pooring rain you could potentailly get it pretty wet. The only reason I can think of NOT to hide it in the glovebox or somewhere is if you plan on monitoring it while driving, and the vent isn't exactly in your line of sight at all.
Just my thoughts, I use to have mine in the ash tray opening, if i still used an SAFC it would definitley go in the glovebox. Stealing SAFC's is as popular as radio's these days, thieves that don't even know what the fuck they are or do look for them to steal nowadays.
Show wise it does look nice and clean though, but function wise I don't like it. And I like to keep as many bright flashy things outta the cockpit as possible.

anyone ever velcro it to the dash when you need it.. and hide when you park?

kinda pointless and a hassle. worrying about keep the backing of velcro clean so it will adhere to the hooks on the dash-side. just mount it where you can see or so that you can hide it, removing back and forth is too much work.

I found the 3M stuff I used to mount mine, this stuff is amazing. There is absoloutely no movement with this stuff!

yea the vents totally suck. my little fins inside are broken too so my safc (once i get it) will go in there. that is a really good spot. great idea.

thanks for the compliments guys, the apex unit in the old ash tray spot is an avc-r with the housing painted black.
As for ease of use in the door, I am left handed (didnt evne think of that though), and its really not bad at all I just rest my arm on the door and use my thumb it works just as well as about any other place I can imagine. The only thing is that since its on a bit of an angle you sometimes go up when ur trying to go left etc.
