Thank you everybody for supporting our first outing at Drift Day Norcal, we will be working on making more events in the future. If you have any critism or suggestions, please post it and we will work on it.

The drivers looked good out there, thanks for coming out and supporting us and proving there is no shortage of drifters in Northern California. Thank you being humble and taking advantage of our instructor group.

The spectators were great, and we'd like to thank them for keeping the event civil, it really helped us run the event more smoothly. I hope you guys enjoyed watching some of the top ranked drifters in the country such as Daijiro and Alex Pfieffer.

Of course we'd like to thank our hard working staff, we really wouldn't be able to run without them. Thank you Hiro, Dai, Alex, Benson, Nadine, Andy, Martin, and, Conrad. Having them as instructors really helped out as well, I'm glad the drivers took advantage of having them and asked for their help. We'd also like to thank Moto and the gang for traveling 6 hours up North to lend a hand.

I would have to agree with Drunk Bastard about the current grounds, but it was good times. Thanks to the people who made it happen. And especially NCDA crew out to help others to propell drivers to the next level.

i don't think NCDA had anything to do with that event, but cut in line.

Todd and Luke were willing to give people rides and advice. Todd gave me some pointers while riding with me. I know it was a DD event, I agree with you vinyladdic7ion but they did help out a few others.

You should also thank Alex, Andy, Dai, Benson, Hiro, tsutomo, Martin, and Conrad for instructing also Moto and all the people from socal that came up to help out with the event. On that note, it kinda says something when Andy Yen, who drove up from LA, instructed and did course work, while other "instructors" from the bay area had to push their busted ass cars off the course because they were pretending to give rides to novice drivers.

ryank
04-25-2005, 11:09 AM
I second that. All the SoCal guys that came up and spent the entire day doing course work and standing in the staging area asking if novices wanted an instructor to ride with them deserve a HUGE
"THANK YOU". These selfless individuals wound up getting either very little or no run time at all.

On the flipside, there were one or two individuals from around here (NorCal) that spent the whole day driving their own cars (not riding as a passenger), offering little or no help, and trying to take advantage of free run time. Shame on you.

TJ, Slonie, Gaylord, MotoP and all the staff that actually WORKED HARD... thank you for an awesome event!

u sure those selfless individuals didnt get run time...? U kno after we left they had the site til 8pm!!!!! dont judge til u have perfect information [which is rare for everyone, so dont judge at all]...

Yes, but they ran AFTER everyone packed up and went home (unlike certain ppl who could have been helping during the day but chose to run their cars and go home before 6). I was there until 8pm. I said little or no run time. You know that a good portion of staff didn't even have cars to run with, right?

Anyway, that's not the point. Aside from a couple bad apples, the event went very well and was very fun. Thanks to those who made this happen.

I didnt know Tsutomu was gonna be there. Good shit.

And for blaming staff. A couple of "bad apples" ROFL at you. I hope your day wasnt ruined. haha..

04-25-2005, 01:41 PM
Ah sweet, so the staff did get some decent time to play at the end. That is a great thing... those guys stood around for 12 hours or so. I hope they had some fun!

If some staffer ever wants to "cut" in front of me, they are more than welcome.

the selfless individuals got little or no run time DURING the real event from 10-5pm. Staff got to run AFTER, keyword, AFTER AFTER AFTER 5pm......the only staff that did actually get to run were the REAL instructors who already confirmed to instruct for Drift Day and actually instructed and gave pointers.

other than that thanks to TJ, Slonie, Gaylord, MotoP and the rest of DD staff for putting on the smooth event. Weather wasnt as bad as it was forcasted to be, especially right next to the bay!

alos the Mophos pictures are awlways fuckign awesome....kudos to the photographer and person that runs Mophos

Shoot, I thanked the DD staff personally, ok a few that I met and all were cool. I even took the time to e-mail benson for changing the way I did things. They were so much help. Yes, hip hip horay! The event was cool. It was great for all the instructors to take time to make us excell.

If you really think about it, socal and norcal instructors have much love for the sport and want people to learn and have a good time.

Luke, with the broken s14 drove passenger in many peoples cars, and always had a passenger on each run he took. It is bad to assume that since he was driving his car for a whole 7 runs, of which his car only worked for 3, that he wasnt working. He was also one of the only instructors that waited in line and did not cut. I know you guys didnt name any names but he was a norcal instructor.

Why do you assume that he was the only norcal instructor to wait in line? Martin , also from norcal, didn't cut in line when he was driving his own car with a passenger. He even did some grid work when he wasn't driving. Tsutomo waited in line, Hiro waited in line, even Dai and Andy also waited in line when they were taking turns driving the PacRim car. All of the instructors waited in line except for todd.

I didn't see luke out on the course working when his car was down. And I think most of the time bobby was in his passenger seat. All i'm saying is that when you invite yourself to an event, either help out or go home. Have some respect for the people who put the even on.

Bobby wasnt in the car at all during the day. He was sleeping in the truck. Luke was giving rides to various people throughout the day. In fact Luke rode with me for 5 runs giving tips on line and adjusting the suspension. Most of the day I only saw one person working the start line with nobody out to instruct. Tsutomu was running his ass back and forth from the grid to the start line all day though. Props to him. All in all it was a very fun event that ate all my tires, I dont know why anyone would complain I got in plenty of runs.

Well I spoke to Moto personally before the event and asked to see if D day at Goden Gate field needed help and he was pleased to have extra instructors. Slone Lee specifically said extra instructors were going to be needed. D-day instructors are DISCOURAGED to drive participants cars unless requested by owners so instruction was prefered to be done in instructors own cars. Instructors generally do not wait in line unless using students cars. (however I do appologize for myself and on behalf of Luke if we have caused trouble for any one.) Unless there is information I do not know about Luke and I had the ok to instruct and was out there doing so, may be you have first hand info from Moto that I do not know about in which case may be you can update me to see if we did invite ourselves with out permission. Oh I was flagging the small course in the after noon as the rain was coming down, and I guess no one saw that. Hiro Fujita was driving my car for a while when I was working. If any one has issue or comments to make you are welcome to call me and discuss it in person. (916) 743-7007
