I suggest anyone thinking about purchasing from Ross at Plan-B think twice about it. I bought an s13 silvia front clip from him, and too many things went wrong. After giving him my money, the freight company refused to bring the clip to my house, and Ross refused to pay for another option to get it here. I had to outsource someone to get the clip home since yellowfreight wouldn't bring it.
After that, I got to doing the swap. Now...the SR20DET is in my 240sx and running in fine shape, but only after I found out the ECU he sent me was fried inside. I had to buy a new ECU and then she fired right up. The problem is, if you need a part that was suppose to be included, Ross won't return any calls or emails after he has your money. He knows I am active on the 240 and supra forums, but he still continues with his terrible service. Not only does he owe me a ECU, he also sent me 2 front left headlight side assemblies, and now I need to go searching for a front right silvia headlight sidemarker.
I don't care soo much that I had to buy the ECU and other small parts, it's the fact that he promised me over and over if anything was wrong he would take care of it, and then avoided contact after receiving my money.
My friend just received an sr20det motorset from him, and his ECU is non-existent. Go figure. The engine was also suppose to ship out immediately after payment, and Ross made him wait 3.5 weeks after payment before sending engine. Just a heads up for anyone thinking of going through him, think twice...and he got my frontclip and my buddie's engine from OSAKA in canada. Go ahead and call OSAKA for your engine before him :wiggle:

I just saw some negative postings on Osaka on a different forum....maybe it takes good research and a visual inspection before dealing with these "companies"..... :-/

dude.. the things you experienced look like they are things out of his control... he is seperate from teh frieght company, so whatever they do is out of his control... and if he has to shell out extra crash to try to correct something, he will not be able to ever do business of each person bitches and has to make em happy.

So that's why he promises to correct anything that's wrong and then avoids contact after receiving my money? I'm sorry, but avoiding emails and not picking up the phone is not out of his control. I bought the missing stuff and got it running myself without his help, but none-the-less he should have not made all those promises if he wasn't going to follow through with them.
This post was just for any of my 240 peeps looking to get an engine. I'm just trying to give people a heads up so that they can make a good decision on where to go.

Also, making my friend wait 3.5 weeks before shipping the engine he promised to send out the same week as payment? Out of his control? I could go on and on about some other problems I didn't even mention in this post. Sorry bro, but there were MANY problems I encountered that were completely in his control. I experienced it first hand.

so i know this isnt a grievence forum and this thread probably will be locked, but really most of these posts are correct and the shops in question usually are crappy bastards like this one and many others, ive been burned like this many times, we should have a place to talk shit about companys that suck, it makes you appreciate higher priced shops that sell good products and stand behind their name.

I looked for the correct forum for this, but no luck. That's fine if it gets locked, but hopefully my post does some good and helps one or two people out on their decisions. Take care everyone.

Now I know im not the only one that was screwed over by Plan B. I also had problems, and he will not answer my calls either. First I bought my clip from him knowing i was going to do a RHD, and a Silvia conversion. I asked for the dash and everything. They sent me an automatic 180SX clip. They set a POS 5speed tranny on the floor board and it damaged the dash during shipping. They threw in the Silvia pannels but put the Silvia bummper support on top of my hood and left two nice dents on it. I also recieved a seized turbo with my clip. with some penetrating oil I eventually got it free'd up. But that turbo didnt even last a week. So i had pedal's to deal with, F'ed up dash to deal with, damaged hood, I also had to wait an extra week for them to ship my harness and ecu to me. But it was a brand new harness. And I almost forgot I paid him extra for Triple projector headlights, and recieved Double. But life goes on.

if he were a real business man he'd shell out the cash then go to the original company with the problem which would then take care of him. thats how warrantee works if you dont have any rma's stuff in stock... the guy has options.

From my experience most freight compaines won't come out to a residential address, and if they do you need to fork over alot more money. In the future just pick it up at the nearest terminal and save yourself headache.
I've also heard bad things about Plan B, and Osaka... this just shows to do your research before hand boys and girls.. :D
Glad to hear you got the motor running though.

You definitely have to do your homework on the whole thing before picking what company you go with. It is usually best to pick a local importer or as local as you can possibly get. The other thing that pisses me off is that companies NEVER go over the call of duty to see to it that the customer is satysfied with a purchase. The importers in particular have the incorrect idea that you need to be happy that you got anything at all from Japan. It is a joke. Most Japanese importers from my experience really have no clue about customer relations.

Sorry to hear about what happened. Nice Supra though.
Thanks bud, she's 400lbs lighter than oem supra :eek3d:
In the end, the sr20det runs good and I'm just glad to have it driving. The silk-road coilovers and M2 Hanbai 17x8.5 17x9.5 are a pretty good matchup too. I put 220 treadwear rubber on her, and this puppy is finally gripping like crazy.
As everyone said, do your homework when it comes to engines, but at least I've ruled out one option to avoid. If I were to ever get another clip or motorset, I'd definately go with WWW.JARCOINC.COM That was my original plan, but the wait was too long, so I had to go with plan-b...LOL.

Thank you for the info, but yes, "Zilvia is not a grievance forum". However anyone who searches for PLan-B will still find this thread, and get the scoop on them. Please feel free to add a comment to the REVIEWS (http://www.zilvia.net/reviews/index.php) section as well to further help fellow Zilvians.
