If you click on the "back" link at the end of the page, then scroll all the way down to the bottom and click on "19950101 HAPPY NEW YEAR in HAMANA LAKE" you'll see that bosozoku has been around much longer than 5 years, as 1995 -> 2005 = 10 years.

Actually, most of what you just said makes a huge difference. A huge supercharger makes power, the huge slicks put it to the ground, the "crazy pipes" let the engine breath with the hug supercharger.

The boso style is all about takeing something functional, and just going overboard. To me it's retarded but whatever. I don't care how other people do their cars. But the vast majority of it is not functional. It's passed that line long ago. The drag made by a 1 foot high duck tail, doesn't justify itself by the extra downforce. The cars are overboard on purpose. That's the style. If you like it, good for you, but you don't have to try and justify it by making muscle cars look dumb. Not saying there aren't dumb muscle cars. Just seems like you're one of those people that always tries to make Japanese stuff out to be better, or at least not worse than American stuff. I can't stnd the guys that say, "that charger is so dumb. OHV and 2 valves while I have VTEC. I'm so cool" Meanwhile, the charger would eat them alive and makes torque that their ITR could never dream of. I don't care what kind of technology is in a car, if it blasts 10 sec quarters. Anywho, this turned into kinda a rant, so I'll stop now. In short. Japanese make dumb, stuff. So do Americans. So does the rest of the world. But boso is about as bad as it gets in my book.

(ya know the ones,The huge Wings and big round Nose cones...) It is just what was considered top of the line aerodynamic at the time. And as far as those goofy lookin cars go with their huge pipes, haven't you ever seen an oldschool, David Mann esque chopper? It is much like the American standard of "Bigger is Better." So hey why hate the game, As long as you are having fun, and your car is individual and doesn't blend into the crowd, be it American Muscle, Japanese, or whatever, enjoy it, love it, and have some fun with it while ya can. Ya only live once, so why not go crazy if ya get the chance to.

ignorance is bliss, obvesiously you dont know things as well as you like to belive. a car such as i mentioned is purley fassion. Put that much power into a car that light with such a short wheelbasnd you get somthing useless. You cant even really drag race it cause keeping that bitch straight is far from an easy task, the car is gonna wanna rip off at crazy angles, so yeah its fassion. they are all based off of race cars but infact they are not, they are just cool, yankee and boso cars are based off of crazy race cars ok in my book. Half of the muscle car movement was style: 1) the look, crazy paint colors, cramming huge tires under tubbed rearends, way jacked up in the rear, shaker hoods, crazy intake setups, vented hoods, wings, crazy body graphics....fashon, fashon, fashon 2) muscle cars are about standing out and showing off......fassion fassion fassion, everyone is as bad as everyone else get over it
