S13 SR20DET tranny on an S14?

Folks - i'm trying to get a conversion done. I have an SR20DET Redtop from an S13 in Japan, planning to use it on the conversion for my S14 silvia. Will it work? Heard some people pull it off but i'm not sure if they're just throwing out bull.
