i have an s14 base model and due to a recent 4lug wheel purchase that i could not pass up i do not want to go 5 lug....yet. i know that the z32 diff wont work if i keep 4 lug, but if i were to buy a cusco or kaaz 1.5way mech. diff would it go in w/ out being 5 lug?

Do you have a Z32 N/A diff in there now?

If so, NOTHING will change when you bolt-on new 5-lug hubs.

I think you're confusing 5+6 bolt output shafts on the diff with 4+5 lug hubs...and as long as you have the right axles for your diff (stock 6-bolt or J30 5-bolt), then the hub splines will fit the new 5-lug hub..and that's all you have to consider.

awesome thanks very helpful fellas, also, when u put in the break in fluid and break the diff in for 30 mins do you use a whole bottle, then drain it and use another whole bottle of diff fluid? also when breaking it in should i use full throttle or just a moderate speed for 30 mins?

well since i can officially contribute to lsd threads since i have one now, ill say it..= use the fluid that comes with the lsd (or buy some since Kaaz doesnt originally come with fluid), do initial break in procedure, then change the fluid as soon as you can. over the counter gear oil 80w90 (lsd, blah blah whatever) should be fine, Tho alot of people got different pereferences on what to use, for that, just search.

The hubs have no bearing on the axle. You can use any combination of hub/axle you choose, 4lug, 5lug, 5bolt, 6bolt, whatever you come up with. Idiot.

what the flip?

Anyways, if you decide to purchase a new lsd. After you break it in I've **read** if you use "Friction Modifier" it will reduce the noise in your diff. I've also **read**, that with the combination of Valvoline85w90+ Friction Modifer it is better than the tomei diff oil.

Vavoline+Friction Modifier>Tomei gear oil

I bought 6 bottles of FM, 2 for my diff, and 4 for 3 other people.

4bucks only, and $6.50 at the stealership.

FM is made by Ford, so you should be able to pick it up from any Ford dealer.
