I did a search and found out they clear 26mm z brakes, but couldn't find out if they clear 30mm z brakes.

i believe that there were two types of alloys made (they look the same on the outside), but on the inside of the spokes they have little differences...
so i think some of them will work, and others wont
search harder maybe? i know it was covered on here a long time ago

I'm talking about the 7 spoke alloys.

Yeah thats what he was talking about too. I don't think 30mm fits because when I have seen 26mm on it is the tightest fit ever.

Yes one of them worked w/o a spacer. Those would be the dual ribbed Se/Le's, they clear 26mm but barely, they still managed to scrape some of my caliper while they were on, but they were on for almost 2.5 years.
Breakdown.
Dual Rib Se/Le= Clears 26mm just fine. No 30mm.
Single Rib= spacer 5+mm, or no dice.
Rear Z calipers= GET NEW WHEELS DAMN IT!!

Show wheel rib type looks like i have the single ones :stupid: shouldnt fit?
I posted a picture showing my 7 spoke wheels that clear my 26mm brakes

twin ribbed 7 spoke rims nick 26mm calipers right?
and single ribbed 7 spoke clear 26mm nicely right?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO x a million!!!!!!
Dual ribbed= yes on 26mm, NEVER 30mm.
Single ribbed = ONLY stock w/o a spacer, with a spacer you can fit 26mm.
11 or whaterver the hell your name is; Those are dual rib as well, you see how there are TWO indintations on the spoke, thats what makes the dual rib. There are some Se/Le's that have only single ones, these will not clear 26mm w/o a 5mm or larger spacer.

The answer is...it depends. There are 3 versions of the 300ZX
brakes and 2 versions of the 7 spoke rims:
calipers:
1) 1990 non-turbo aluminum calipers for use with 26mm rotors
2) 1991-1992 non-turbo/1990-1992 twin turbo aluminum calipers for
30mm rotors
3) 1993-1996 ALL cast iron calipers for 30mm rotors
and wheels:
a) Some 7-spoke alloys use a single, flat, wide, asymmetric
stiffening rib behind each spoke. These wheels have more clearance
for the brake calipers than the other kind...
b) The other 7-spokes use 2 tall, narrow, symmetric stiffening ribs
behind each spoke.
Ok, the combinations I know work are these:
1a) clears
2a) clears with the use of a 3mm spacer
3a) should be the same as 2a
1b/2b) you will need to run a spacer -- thickness as yet undetermined.

CLEARANCE OF 26MM CALIPER, NO SPACER

I believe 1b/2b will clear with a 10-15-ish mm spacer. Just a guess.
Please archive this and re-host the pics so we can chastize newbs for not searching first in the future. :jerkit:
BTW, I have a set of the "good" SE's for sale if anyone wants 'em.. no tires on 'em. Will ship.
Thanks

How about the later s14 kouki base models and 180sx kouki wheels? Do those 4 lug wheels clear 30mm, 26mm, or neither.

WTF are you saying? The pictures above look like the bad ones are "DUAL RIBBED" to me. Have you even looked at s13 wheels?

hey 1101 wat kind of paint did u use to paint the "nissan" on the calipers? does it come off with heat?
Painted with regular engine paint, the kind that can stand 500 F. If your brakes hit 500 on the street, i'd be worrying about other things then paint :p
Stock-S13, called you out, please tell me how i'm worng and stupid.

Id love Z brakes, but my Panasports are already the wrong offset and I had to shave off some of the stock caliper so they wouldn't rub.

No one knows if the s14 kouki/g20 mesh wheels clear z brakes?

UHhh... Son of a bitch... How hard is it to come to this conclsuion, the one that is placed as "Good rim" has 2, two, FUCKING indintations on the spoke. This allows for the brakes to clear, "looked at an s13?" I really don't know the standards for Florida education but I clrearly wrote and will repeat.
I HAD THE FUCKING DUAL RIB SE'S ON MY Z32 26MM brake set up for almost 2.5 years. In the duration i experienced some scracthing with the caliper from the inner spoke, if logic allows to assert anything is that if my 26mm's still scracthed we can assume that the single rib, "BAD RIM" will not clear without some kind of spacing apparatus. If you still cannot conjure up some kind of reasonble explination, well hell you're hopeless.
Just as refrence refrain from ever, "calling me out" on anything should you believe that my opinion/statement is invalid, VOID it and do the legwork yourself.

All i can say is WOW, you're really taking this far. Now you're trying to insult my intellegence and be an E-Thug all in one post. I believe our definitions of a "Rib" are different, instead of coming to this conclusion you start cussing and name calling.
Bravo.

Your inabilty to grasp a concept is startling, fearful even. I'm not familiar with the phrase, "e-thug" nor am i willing to search who or what said meaning is. I will leave it at this, if you find some kind of indescresion within my assertions and process by all means find another manner in which to fit your Z32 brakes.
Im in a state of disposotion due to someone hitting my car on my first day at school, not even a note, what bothers me even more is that the parking lot is facilitated by the parking secuirty. So if i come off a bit disgruntled or upset it is due to that. Or maybe i'm just angst filled and wish you would all die, take it as you will.
I already have z32 brakes on my car, thanks for the help anyways.
Tell me about it, your car will take a beating at college. I've been rear ended and a girl ran into my front bumber(in a parking lot, while i was in the car, in a parking spot) I've just given in and hope nothing *too* bad happens to my car / buying a motorcycle to drive to school. Car stays safe and its much, much easer to park.
Sorry about your car, but I still dont understand what i'm not 'grasping' but whatever

I have unlimited bandwith, but I appreciate your concern.
In gratitude for your concern, I have replaced them with jpgs that are a total of less than 60kb.
You're all welcome. :P :D
