It's hard to trust guys who can't even get their injectors working properly

Plus every week we get someone who wants to keep his injen intake with his turbo

Well, I mean you could retain the FILTER element from the injen, maybe not the rest of the tubing.

and yes, the easiest way to get 75 to 100 hp on any car would be nitrous... but in my books, that's "cheating". Just like turbochargers, but those require a little more engineering so I respect them.

for 75 to 100 hp though, you'd need a reasonably big turbo though... with which would come bigger injectors and the sort.

diego_716,

I have a 1990 myself. We both have Single Overhead Cam (SOHC) engines. I've done just about all the bolt-on mods and can tell you from my experience that you would be MUCH better off saving your money for a SR20DET swap. I have installed: K&N filter, Cold Air Intake, Hotshot Header, Borla Exhaust, Jim Wolf Tuned ECU, Unorthodox Racing Pulleys, Nissan Motor Sports High Performance Cam, Magnecor Plug Wires, and I had the engine rebuilt. With all this I have only gained about 35 horsepower. I could kick myself in the ass for not putting the money on these upgrade toward an SR20DET and gaining 65 horsepower on stock boost and close to 100 horsepower with the turned up to 12 psi. The thing with our engines is that they have high miles on them and there are no turbo kits manufactured for them. So by the time you rebuild the engine to handle a turbo and then get someone to custom build the turbo kit for it you would be better off with the SR20DET. If you have any questions email me or post your email address and I'll contact you.

I hope this helps,

Kyle

Nitrous is cheating but turbo is not

Good N/A engines (Hondas) are engineered for better air flow, timing, compression but Turbo allows more air to get in the chamber for combustion. I take that as more eff. for making power.. def. not cheating. You'll need to spend a lot more money detuning ($10000) honda motors to turbo it then stayin n/a (within the hp range), so turbo is not cheatin (for Hondas) if you talk about cheap HP.

Nitrous is not cheating, if you just want something for a few drag races that you get into every once and awhile I would look into it.

Hrmmm.... turbos = cheating? how come? u know of a better way to triple your hp output? I agree that nitrous can be considered cheating, but I don't think that turbos are.... not when it's a stage 2 or 3 turbo...

if you want more than 60 horses, it's pretty hard to get there with boltons....

As for the size of the turbo.... 75-100 hp we are talking about 225-250 hps total. So i'd say either do an engine swap or buy yerself a T3/T4 turbo kit.... In yer case swap is better i think.

Keyword here is 'can be considered'. I dont myself consider nitrous cheating, but i can understand why some people do, since nitrous gives u as much power as a turbo, which alot more time and money to set up
