Hrm, if you got access to DOS there, your best choice is to go there and format the whole thing... otherwise... try to find someone who knows the password...

Sorry to be late on this one -- First if its running NT then most likly its on a NTFS partition which cannot be accessed from DOS based utility(IE booting off 98 CD). Since its a portable then your running an IDE drive. Easiest way to clean that drive off is to search for a utility like GWSCAN. This will let you write zeros to the drive.

ok well now its fucked up, i think i made a mistake becasue it is a windows nt/98 system, and i tried to load w2k in it, i got like 67 percent done and it restarted and said soemthing like NTLDR not found, crtl-alt-dlt to restart, i think i have to use a bott floppy for windows 98, not sure though
then it say
Secondary hard disk drive 0 not found....wtf <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sneaky.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':pissed:'>

You should have listened to me and it would have been fine.
Now the reason your having a prob is cause you formated the drive with a 95/98 boot disk or during the 98 install. Well all that does is remove the indexing of the drive(Not good)(Virus's love this feature). So NT is still controlling the MBR of your drive.
So does this either write zeros to the drive(Gwscan program) and then fdisk/format your drive or boot off a 98 cd and type fdisk /mbr <enter>

Now im going to help you install 98 the fastest way... Get win2k........... hahah just kidding.
1. Make sure the drive is clean (gwscan)
2. boot off 98 cd or 98 boot disk.
3. Type "cd win98" at your cdrom drive.
4. Type "fdisk" (say yes to large disk support)
5. Check if you have a partition (Option 4)
6. Create one if you dont( Option 1)
7. Exit and restart of same bootable media.
8. Do step #3 again.
9. Type "format c: /u" (Dont put a volume label when done)
10. Restart off bootable media again (Ctrl alt Del)
12. Go to your c: drive ( just type "c:")
13. Type "md cabs"
14. Go to your cdrom drive.
15. Type "cd win98"
16. Type "copy *.* c:\cabs"
17. When done type "setup"
18. Now go through setup and install all you drives.
19. If it ever ask for your 98 cd just point it towards the c:\cabs
I will take a s15 clip now, <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>
