There's also a shop in Union City.

I found them both while doing a Google search.

I'm taking my wheels to wheeltechniques.

Good luck

Any word on the wheels, which shop does better work / pricing / service etc? I've heard from someone else wheel techniques is good, but what about the "fixrim.com" place? Anyone know anyone within san francisco? the fixrim.com appears to be in union city but "san francisco location"

Fix Rim (Wheel America) charges a flat rate and is pretty fast....my friend bent his SSR wheels there and came back looking new...

Wheel Techniques charges an arm and a leg, take forever, and outcome is hit or miss....Couple friends took their set to get out gouges/have wheels polished....either it comes back with rivets missing or nicks in the lips....but other times when its slow over there they fix it within a week or two and no problems with the wheels

So I got a set of ultra rare Work wheels that need to be repaired. ANyone else been to wheel america or wheel techniques or somewhere else to get their wheels fixed? Experiences good or bad? I want a place that is cheap, makes the rims like new and doesn't take forever. Does it exist?

I saw this on Craigstlist...

http://www.craigslist.org/sfc/pts/119480025.html

Something to consider since they do list themselves in "San Francisco". I haven't contacted them, but I figure people in SF could make a quick call and find out.

I had a set of 3pc Work wheels done at Wheel Techniques. Very high quality work. Very expensive.
Wheels America is a joke. They can't do anything with forged wheels or 3pc anything with a rolled lip. They just cut the lip off the wheel and add metal and refinish. Fine for cheap cast wheels and OEM stuff, not for expensive forged wheels.

I took one of my old school ssr's to Wheel Techniques. It had nasty curb rash and a slight bend in it. When I got it back and on my car, no one could tell which one was repaired. I even have trouble recognizing which one was repaired. Their prices aren't even that bad for the amount of work they do.

+1 for wheeltech.

Friend got her rims refinished/polished there, it wasnt perfect since they hooked her up a little on the price (and you know hookup = cut corners), but still nicely done, looked brand new.

Good guys who do good work.

From my point of view they do good work, but they cost too much and they're somewhat shady.

You have to bargain the shit out of them to get a price which isn't even decent in my opinion. If you've got cheapo wheels, don't think about it. if you got some 2000+ dollar wheels sure think about it.
