View Full Version : 160k Mile tune-up $$?
Well, my S14 is long over due (172k+ miles) for a tune-up, i'm wondering how much it would cost me to get a dealership or a shop to do it. I'm not lookin for exact numbers, just estimates, guess-timates or previous encounters. Thank you for your time. :wavey:

Kevin used to work at a Nissan dealer and I used to work for Goodyear, I am going to guess abprox $200-$250 providing no major repairs are needed. It also goes up if you opt for other services. But, mostly these tune ups are fairly easy... oil change, spark plugs, tranny fluid change ect.... just check out the owners manual and make sure they include everything that is required.
Oh damn, I feel dumb now. I can do all that shiz myself. LoL!

maaaan, hellla easy.
heere
-change oil
-oil filter
-fuel filter
-air filter
-cap and rotor
- pcv valve
- spark plugs
- plug wires
- clean your throttle bottle with some carb choke
- check all your lines for vaccum leaks(located on the placard under your hood)
- change your transmission oil
- change your diff oil.
- check all your suspension parts for ware( toe rods, inne tie rods, rear upper control arms, etc)
- Also check for any oil leaks. Check your oil pan gasket, your front main bearing( thats the main pulley in the front, and your flywheel to see if your rear main inside by the clutch is leaking, and your rear transmission seal.
- run some fuel injector cleaner too if you want to get some of that crud out
- change your o2 sensor if you need too, if you havent since youve had the car.
- check your timing too
- i also forgot to mention check your battery and battery cables for any corrosion and wear to the ground wires.
This should an eye opener if youve never done this stuff but saves you tons of money of having to bring it to the dealership.

it helps with the smog regulations, if its clogged it will not help release the blowby gase that is in your valve cover. Which can clog up your egr and other things.
