I get a skreetching noise, like a loose belt but louder coming from near the bellhousing I would assume. The noise only happens when I deccelerate and clutch play doesn't affect it, neither does what gear I'm in including neutral. It won't do it however when I'm at a complete stop. And the noise goes away when I depress the break pedal. Could this be a bad throw out bearing? why would it then not do it at idle or stop when I depress the clutch? :bash:

also, slowing down at low rpms.. my car shakes violently like it's going to stall... doesn't stall but just stops shaking. I think this is a driveshaft problem.

R240NA, was that DS non-abs? if not, that may be my problem and I'll have to switch the rear section. I had to bolt it to the diff first and then bolt up the mid section, but it seemed like it was under pressure still.

help please :wtc:

sounds like the problem i had when i went from a non-abs->abs diff, my driveshaft was too long obviously, and had crazy sounds unless i was breaking or not moving, i even broke the dirt collar or whatever it is off of the end of the tranny, not quite sure how that happend, possibly from the vibrations

that's the answer to the second problem right? or both?
thanks

well if your driveshaft isnt the right length, im bet its the cause of both problems =]

well the violent shaking is gone, but the skreetching still stayed.. that one sounded like the TOB.. but it went away after I came home from testing the DS out... dunno.. if it's still there tomorrow I'll post again. thanks statik

It's a non-ABS shaft, we discussed that IIRC. Make sure you've got it lined up, there's a yellow paint mark on the diff and one on the DS, that's the 'balance' line from the factory. It may be off a little using another DS but it should be close enough to spec to reduce any resonance.
