Went to the dyno on Saturday in Richmond, VA to get some baseline numbers.

I did 3 pulls. One Pumpgas run (20psi), and 2 race gas runs (27psi). The first race gas run (blue) the boost controler pulled boost up top, hence the dip in the curve. I wanted to run more boost (30psi) and timing (30deg) for race gas, but the plugs need to be a step colder (currently 8s).

632whp 432ft-lb @ 27psi
500whp 346ft-lb @ 20psi

The car is driving quite nice and is very streetable.

Here is a link to the dyno video. feel free to share it if you wish.

I plan to go back to the dyno and do some tuning at higher boost after i get colder plugs and cam gears.

Engine was built by me in my basement. I did the tuning with the help of a friend (Butt Dyno).

Car info can be found on my page.

very nice! I like how you put the video together. Also what music is that in the backround? It's good to hear something that's more... non-rock 'n roll type :)

wow...just....just, wow. Great work, and it's really great to hear you did it all on your own. :rawk:

Just curious why they didn't use (SAE)correction factors. I mean, if it was very hot, really humid, etc, you might have made even higher numbers.

They do use correction factors. I posted uncorrected because some people think turbo cars shouldnt use the SAE correction. This is both true and untrue. SAE has a seperate correction factor for forced induction cars, also for intercooled. But most dynos dont input that info and hence the correction factor would be off.

I was speaking of forced induction correction factors, but if the dyno doesn't support them, then thre's not much you can do. Anywho, again, great work.

You don't spool till 5,500rpm yet you say it's streetable?

Still have 100whp 4000 RPM. Probably more than most stock SR/KA have at low rpms. It revs pretty fast anyway. I consider it streetable, meaning i can drive it on the street. I can drive it around town, down the highway, dont have to downshift to get up a hill, so i consider that streetable.

Walkout basement, pushed the engine stand outside and around to the garage.

LOL - Do you expect a turbo that can push enough air to yeild more than 600whp on a 2.0L engine to spool at 3k???

His powerband goes all the way to 8250rpms - that's a 2750rpm window. Not a broad flat power curve but who cares.

Very similar to my old 2.0ltr Ls/Vtec setup... Only I spooled alot quicker. I was using the exact same turbo and it was VERY streetable, 9:1 compression and was still quick off boost.

160 mph on stock tranny? whats ur rpm at???

SOUNDEFFECTS

the LS/VTEC was just a little built B18a/Civic type r head...We made more power on other runs but we couldn't hold it on the dyno in 5th gear above 165mph and the charge pipes kept coming off. One run it made 600whp and 500trq at 6000-65000rpms, we estimate that it would have pulled 760-780whp on that boost level at a full run to 9000rpms. Damn drag radials and 1950lb hatch.

I can assure you that with the sr20det making this much power as well as mine, at 150mph+ it wasn't hard to spin the tires

Aint spinning the tires at 150+ just a little bit too dangerous?
