I was just wondering if Nissans in your area get stolen a lot. Because where I live (San Bernardino), cars get stolen left and right. My friends crx got stolen last friday, and my other friends civic hatch got stolen the previous week. I guess hondas are easy to steal, now im just scared mine is next. I dont hear too much about 240s gettin boosted around here, just wondering about your guys' area.

here in northern VA, spanish gangs like to steal turbo hondas and ITRs. We dont hear a whole lot about 240s getting stolen hoever i do know one guy who had his SR20 swapped S13 stolen, stripped and burnt.

all cars are easy to steal. its just that there is still a huge demand for h/a. you think the 240/86 thing is big, the h/a thing is still even bigger...

its all related to trend.. i mean who the hell would steal a stock civic if it wasnt a good source of upgrade parts for other models??

anyways, I dont usually hear about alot of local 240s getting stolen becuase the community just isnt as large as the honda community...

Haven't heard of too many cars getting stolen in my area, but damn if they don't steal every freakin car stereo in Denver. My 240 got broken into and all they stole was my deck (parked on the street for all of about 4 months of it's life, so happy to have a garage again). Three weeks go they broke into my friend's S14 among three other cars in his building's garage.

From what I hear in my area....rx7's are more likely to get stolen here, since not alot of them are on the road. So, just like the last guy, I'm paranoid about mine getting stolen. For example, one night my friend came over in his truck and left his door unlocked. An hour later, he gets in his car and notices that all of his cd's were gone....all this happened in my neighborhood. So since I own an Rx7, I'm more worried about it getting boosted from my house, and my job. Pretty much, where ever I go. As for 240's, I haven't heard a thing about it, only hondas.

man they steal anything here. My friends civic hatchback was all stock, i mean cmon it was even an automatic. But shit they took everhthing off that car, engine, seats, dash, rims, carpet, it was just the shell of the car that was left.

I know how you feel. I like in Riverside (was 909 then got kicked to 951) in a really nice area and I'm still very careful. That's why I have an alarm with kill switch, and leave nothing in my car, I mean NOTHING. I take out my headunit everywhere I go and try to be very good about where I park.

Some guys tried to break into my GSR 2x in a week near UCR when I went to school there. Luckily my alarm went off both times (put it on sensitive). They first reached under the front bumper and unhooked my stock horn to disable, what they thought, was my only siren. Always get a backup if you can, also use an AutoLock.

i'm not trying to discourage anyone from using the autolock, but i don't think people should maintain a false sense of security from using such devices. If you do(put a lot of trust into devices), you'll leave yourself more open to become a victim.

Make your car undesireable to theives. Time is their enemy.

A theif will either be prepared or unprepared for an encounter with an autolock. If he isn't prepared. He's gotto ditch trying to steal it. If he is, it can be removed in about a minute.

It's unfortunate that being an automotive enthusiast pits you against theives.

Hondas and Acuras get stolen around here left and right. I'm now seeing more posts on the local boards about 240's getting jacked more often than usual. Great! I own both... With all the swapped SR running around, why import what you can steal.

Waiting for someone to catch someone jacking their car and videotape the beatdown...

Although the autolock could be breakable (among everything else), giving the thief another obstacle to overcome prior to stealing your car is always worth it. Any possible deterence is well worth the time and money of the heartache of losing a car.

An indispensable tool for the following industries:

-LOCKSMITHS
-TOW TRUCK OPERATORS
-AUTOMOBILE REPOSSESSION PROFESSIONALS
-FIREMEN & PUBLIC SAFETY SERVICES
-crackhead low life scum that will get their own down the road in the form of a penetrating magic stick....

i think the buster forgot to add that one...is it wise to actually advertise that to the public instead of making only available to those in a proper profession? :rl:

Hey all you 909 and 951 guys, the reason they steal hondas and acuras more than anything else is because Riverside/San Berdo counties are ghetto, and ghetto thieves steal ghetto cars....simple as that.

Allow me to elaborate. I'd say about 90% of the hondas, acuras I've seen are in ghetto/ricer form. I mean, unpainted body kits, different front rims than in the rear, ridculously loud exhaust and no power to back it up, tinted windows (a thieves dream BTW), unpainted Z3 fenders and CF hoods that don't match the cars look. so basically there's alot of guys that make their cars stand out soooo much that they're asking to get fucked with. Now original poster your friend's cars are just innocent victims of the rice infestation that's sweeping So Cal. My advice to anyone owning a honda/acura.....get really good insurance so WHEN it gets stolen (and it will) you can just go out and buy a 240!!

Not trying to upset you guys but the truth isn't always good. And just so you know I grew up in Riverside..went to North H.S. and graduated from Rubidoux H.S. (back in 96'), lived just off 3rd st. near the railroad tracks, and my mom used to say to come inside when we heard the evening's first gunshot. So yeah I am from the ghettos so I can rag on them a little bit. Not to say ALL of Riverside is ghetto, Canyon Crest and Orange Crest are still safe....but for how long? That's why I got out, and now I live in beautiful Alameda...and don't ever plan on going back.

well around here they try to jack you GTA style.....

For those of you in the Inland Empire, my friend actually had that happen to him at the Tyler Mall. He was driving his GF's civic and was at a stop light coming out of the mall. A dude comes up and asks for some change, he said sorry bro I don't have any and the guy busted out a gun and took his car right there. Thankfully, the car had Lo Jack on it and he called the police and they found the guy in some alley trying to take the stereo out of the car. Shit can get crazy.
