A couple months ago my dad backed up into my rear quarter panel with his truck. The dent use to be real smooth, but i tried to pop it out and it came out like shit. So im looking to get it fixed. I want to know if i would be better to get the panel from the dealer($450) and have a body shop install it. Or see if someone can actually fix the existing panel. Another option i was thinking about was finding a s14 in the junkyard and cut out the quarter panel, and then have that welded in. Im just looking for the cheapest option right now, also i dont want it to be wavey, i want the panel to be smooth. Also im not worried about paint, because paint will come soon after the fix.

Thanks

mount one of those sick CF fuel doors there it'd be JDM haha but seriously I would try to old suction cup and see if you could pull it out if not professional repair is required. Is it creased badly?

um you would be better off taking to a body shop to get it fixed, looking at the damage would be around 650-700, that will be way cheaper then getting the panel replaced, theres a whole lot of know how involved in replaceing panel.

To replace the quarter, is gonna cost you a grip in labour, cus they have to cut the old one out and then weld the new one in...

Just take it to a bodyshop and get the existing one refinished.

yeah if u want to replace the panel ur talkin about thousands of dollars, the dent is fixable body lines are a bitch.. depends how good the body man is tho... any thing can be fixed with bondo some metal work ...etc etc....just fix the existing panel.. pretty sure this is gonna happen in the future so u might want to keep cost down till u crash it again or sell it...

man thats not too bad.. id just get a body puller and patch it with fiberglass.. cheaper then all options.. if it cracks or falls off, then would I consider overfenders

It would if you PULLED the dent and ROLLED the fenders :P I am just being an ass, I don't think widebody would look as good as a clean stock car, but I am biased towards stock haha

Pff.. I guess I was wrong about the new quater panel. If infinitexsound says it can be done, it can be done.

Yeah..if you need them fenders pulled/rolled.. you know who to go to.

It is fixable, it you find a good body shop they can straigthen and block sand that panel and make it better than new. It will also be cheaper but then you gotta make a decision about painting. Do you need the complete car painted??? It will look better. If not then just the the complete panel repainted. Oh and send Dad the bill...... :aw: :D

overfenders win. body work on curvey cars takes a lot of time to get it lookin right. its best to just replace the panel and with overfenders you'd be upgrading. i dont see a downside.

if you decide to stay stock fixing that part of the fender is a no go. the best way to fix it is to replace the damaged piece. its more cost effective and easier to get perfect.

Lots of mixed answers. Today im going to go around to body shops and see what they can do with it and get their opinion. Anyone know where to go in san jose/milpitas. The only one i know is Apex.
