GP Sports GR6's and VIP wheels.

Got the coils on the car and borrowed 2 of The Wite Warren G's wheels cause they make my car look HOT! Rears are 18x10 +19 and they fit perfect. didn't throw the fronts on cause they didn't quite clear the coils(18x9 +25). I'll let Warren tell you guys what a deal the wheels were. Front is gonna go another 1/2" to 3/4" lower. it's soooo damn low. Oh yea, and these coils go about 2" lower in the front than my HE's and the rears go 3 1/2" lower than the he's with no preloading. they feel excellent too, valving is very precise and crisp, I love them! Each click makes a huge difference. springrates are 9/7. And the fronts have a ton of camber. The lower brackets are designed for a lot of camber and the top mounts have tons of adjustability. Much higher quality than the Tein's.

KA stuff is going well. Just need to finish up some odds and ends then it goes together.

I've got locks on the wheels and that's about all you can do. Besides, they are beat up, nobody would want them. haha Faces are all chipped etc.

ride quality. It's not blown shock bouncy, but really stiff springrate kind of bouncy. My g/f rides in it all the time and says the ride quality is better than the HE's and I agree. But you will definately get some jiggling titties tho. :D

nah, all pics are with the gr6's. It's just that the 17's are smaller, so it looks higher. I'm gonna lower the front to where I want it, then see if the rear needs to go higher or lower. springs and shocks are there because I had to put them on the car for the couple weeks that I was inbetween the HE's and GR6's.

I dunno what happened to the rear quarter. It didn't show up in the carfax. But what I do know is that there was some shitty body work done. the inside lip that you usually roll is welded to the old fender so it's virtually immovable. I'm just going to cut the lip off and then pull the other fender to match. I also found out that that entire quarter panel is covered in 1/4" of bondo, so that's why the primer spot. Rolled it, bondo cracked, re-smoothed it with new body filler and primed. Hopefully I'll paint it this summer. New paint and 4 shiny wheels should look pretty good. Not getting aero tho, not practical. It looks good enough slammed beyond belief.

Yeah ... the OEM bodies on those cars is really beautiful. They truely do not need any kind of aftermarket mods aside from possibly a lip across the front bumper and/or some side skirts. Nissan did the 240sx just right.

So how did it feel to go from HEs back to your stockies while you were waiting on the new GR6s? Feel like you were driving a truck?

actually it felt like a caddy. seriously. It made me a little sick to my stomach the first couple times driving it cause I was so used to the harsh ride. Made me appreciate the coils that much more.

mmmmmmmmmm....ssr gartmaiers. I have the same brand rims but in 17's and the spokes are not sloted and have some weaksauce offsets. I thought i was the only ones with these wheels. Never seen anyone else yet... looks sick though. Mine will be on very soon :bow:

These were bought by one of Warren's customers when he was in Japan, and warren snagged them from him. Yes, they are made by SSR for Ueda Japan, who owns Gartmaier, and the wheel model is Mainbach. So they're Gartmaier Mainbachs. They're 3 piece too, very nice. I only wish I could find another set.

Maybe I drive like a puss, but I don't scrape on much. Front lip gets love from the pavement everywhere, but nothing else. Part of it must be due to the fact that I made my own exhaust, and it sits super high, so it doesn't scrape on stuff. I can't wait to drop the front some more. :hsdance:

17x8f, 17x9 r, +35 all around. rear should look ok but i dunno about the front. like i said. pretty weak offsets. I'm hoping they will look ok on the car.

yeah, i dont scrape anywhere but driveways, so maybe it sounded misleading


but i scrape the center rocker panels on the ground when i pull into my driveway (and i dont mean side skirts, i'm S14 w/ no sideskirts) and there is no way for me to pull in w/o scraping just a little, after the first time when it bent that little lip up in the center, it stopped bending, now it's just scraping a little

how much camber? Dunno. had -2 in the rear with HE's and since I have these coils set at 1.5" lower than my HE's would go, it's gotta be like -3 or more. It's a lot. rear tires are 235/40. Fronts have a TON of camber. Those brackets create a lot of camber.

Thanks Christian. The tires were rubbing, it there were like 215/40's it would have fit. The wheel itself fit. I should have made that distinction before. Did you get another set of gr6's for your blue S14?
