So my brohter and I and some friends decided to turn my talon that doesnt have a title into a drag car and we are taking off a lot of the stock parts so I was wondering what all i can use off of the talon to help me build a ka-t setup for my s13. I have heard of people using the bov and some other parts but im not sure what all i can use off of the car. Im not looking for a ridiculous amount of power from the ka just something reasonable that i can have fun with without spending a whole lot of money, thats why i want to use all the parts i can off of the talon. Thanks in advance

Many people use the bov as well as the sidemount intercooler. The turbo however is generally considered too small for our engines. Hope this helps you. Good luck with your project!

If you don't want a lot of power or don't require it, i'd say do a few minor bolt ons to the KA itself. That is just my 2 cents.

I already have minor bolt ons to my ka and i want more power out of it, i want more power then the some 150hp my ka might put down, i would like around 220 which shouldnt be hard to do with little boost

Does anyone know if i can use the stok tdo5h turbo off of the talon? What manifold would i have to use? If i can use this turbo it will save a good bit of money and would make this whole process a lot easier since i already have it and wont have to buy a turbo.

You can use for the KAs:
The BOV, Turbo, intercooler, injectors (KA24E)...
There are many choices for the manifolds, check out ebay to get an idea, then search and you will find dealers with their own manis, or you can fab your own with the help of jgstools...

I was told the the tdo5h might have the same or close to the same flange as a t28? does anyone know if this is corret? I dont know which mani to look for because im not sure what flange is on that turbo.

No, the mitsu flange is proprietary. As is the turbine outlet where is attaches to the O2 housing. The Greddy manifolds use some weird 3-bolt turbine flange I have never seen on any other turbo. The 14b would be pretty tiny on a 2.4L. Hell, the SRTs use a 16G and it spools like a T25 on a DSM. As for the injectors, they are top-feed low-impedance (2.4 ohms) and 450cc's. I would think the BOV and SMIC are the only two pieces worth hanging onto. A run of the mill T3/T4 is about $500 and there are tons of KA manifolds to fit them. Sell the 14b and injectors on ebay... the turbo if it is in good condition will get you about $150 and the injectors will go between $50-75.

anything you use will have to be custom done. the 14b turbo can be used but it will take a mani and O2 housing to use it. Not a bad turbo and has actually gotten plenty of AWD guys into the 11's. The stock side mount isn't too bad but i wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for more than 250hp. The 1g BOV is commonly used all over the place because it's inexpensive and holds boost quite well. It's pretty easy to make a flange for that too.
