alright guys.
i have a 92 240sx with an ACT 6 puck clutch in it
i properly broke the clutch in.
here's the deal
it's been in the car for about 1000 miles now, and up until now it's acted fine

when i first got the clutch installed, the pedal would "grab" right on the floor.
as i gradually drove the car, the pedal would start to grab a little further up on the pedal,

now, when i first start the car, the clutch acts fine. it doesn't slip or anything. but the longer i drive the car in one sitting, ie. 20miles or so,
the clutch will slip horribly. i mean to the point that i can't even get the clutch to engage AT ALL.
if you let the car cool down a little bit, it will start to engage again, just a little.
so i was figuring it was the front main bearing was bad.
so i pulled the tranny expecting to see oil all over the clutch disc. but there's no oil there at all. the casing is clean, just some residue.
there is a little oil leaking from where the shifter goes into the transmission, but i was guessing that i possibly overfilled the tranny.

also the flywheel is fine. no burn marks on it or anything.
the pilot and throwout bearing we're also replaced with the clutch.

thanks guys for the help. :bash:

it might be your slave cylinder, it could possible build up pressure and cause it to not be pulled back all the way. Try bleeding it see if that works.

did you readjust the pedal? with the aftermarket clutch the engagement point is lower towards the floor panel, try shortening it

like others suggested, check out your slave cyliner. Sometimes when you swap the clutch, you damage the slave. Also check your master cylinder, and pedal adjustment before you look at doing another clutch job. Im sure those components have not been changed in a while anyways.

Good luck

id check your clutch free play. if there isnt enough free play and u go driving normally your clutch will burn and ull smell it, along with slipage. but these puck style clutches are wicked resiliant.
on a side note, when ur slave leaks clutch will engage earlier(to the point ur moving with clutch in). but if either master or slave wont release, youll get slippage. burs in lines also cause this. the clutch fork pivot ball can cause it too. did you change your throwout bearing?
anywho, GL and happy easter
