Ok guys, I know our car was supposed to be done a long time ago. But, since our company has grown so fast we haven't had time to work on it. We are getting used to the rush though so work on the car has commenced again! We have also decided that we are going to have the build up online. We are taking pictures of almost everything we do and we will be updating the page regularly as our installs continue. Click below to check out the progress.

Are you planning to drift this car in competitions? If so I was wondering why you decided to use the cusco cage?

Anyways, I like the sard Fuel accumulator.

Looks pretty good, except for the statement " But let's face it, when you are building a truly evil car, the KA just isn't going to cut it."

Looks like somebody hasn't seen the two newest PHAT KA-T Videos :nono:

I'll have you know that the girls around here swing a mean wrench and aren't afraid of getting dirty. Hell, the stripping was as messy as it gets and they were right in there head to toe in tar. lol

Besides, you know that you would love a girl that can wrench.

Thats pretty rude to say something like that. Quite a few shops have cars built that aren't all in the media and such. Not necessarily do you need to make a profit to build a car. Usually it's coming out of the car owners pocket. Take for exapmle Proto, a widebody supra and FD all with cages and awaiting built motors. And the 180sx that is being completed offsite. Hell James HPDEs his purple IS300.

Note: I thought FormulaD changed there safety rules to that of NASA and SCCA legal cages.

HAHAHA no offense to the KA. I ran a high comp KA for many years and I don't mean to say that the KA isn't capable of being a beast. But for what we are doing it's not capable of keeping up the horsepower level that we need without needing pretty regular maintenance. I've seen 500hp KAs (that kicked a$$) and I've seen reliable 350-400hp KAs (that also kicked a$$) but when you are looking at 500+ hp that needs to keep running daily and rev like crazy frequently, the KA would run into reliability issues. But that is the same as the SR, I wouldn't trust an SR at that level without needing a rebuild pretty often. Our choice comes from our requirements not from being a ricer fanboy that wants to pull his KA and get something else because it is JDM tyte.

Sorry Justin Cusco cages are not legal for any competition that req's a cage.

Thats why i cut up my cusco and threw it away.

They look nice though

I think Justin was talking about them being street legal. The main reason we decided on Cusco is that we were looking for something to tighten everything up. As I stated on the build page, when the car comes across a situation where a beefier cage is required we will install one. But right now, the cusco cage is the lightest option that will still do everything we want it to do.

would a chromoly cage really not support the weight of the car in a rollover? Bicycle frames are made out of chromoly, and those stand up to heavy abuse from pros.

It's not about if chromoly will stand up to a roll over or not. Most stock cars have ok rollover protection. With the cage it's even better. The problem is that on a track 1. you are going much faster. and 2. There is a greater risk of hitting other cars at high speed (Though living in LA I could argue this point :-/ ) Chromoly cages are actually very good and lighter than steel. But most of the bolt in cages are made out of chromoly that is considered to be too thin walled to stand up to a track style crash. But of course for street and weekend use they are waaaaay better than nothing and go a long way toward stiffening up the car.

i personally like the autopower cage, to my knowledge, it fits better in US 240sx's, are legal, and can be welded in and dont have heim joints (those stuipd thingys that bolt the whole cage together)

I like the autopower's as well. The rear half of them anyways. What I dont like is how the front half of the cage doesnt follow the a-pillar and dash very well. It just shoots down right next to your knee, not cool. And furthermore, if you dont have a steering wheel and hub, your left hand is far to close to the cage for comfort. I think Im gonna buy the rear half, and have someone bend some tubing for the front, roof and door braces, that way I can have the cage follow the a-pillar and dash like Cuscos.

I would have but my dumb ass had welded it in, and the only way to get it out was to cut it :-(

Anyways, they do help out alot with chassis flex.
