I put my tranny back on and filled it from the shifter hole and the fluid just poured right out the back end where the driveshaft mates it. I didn't have the driveshaft on.. is there a bad seal or does it just leak without the driveshaft on?

O_o
fill it with the driveshaft on and see if it leaks. if yes, replace seal. if no, good to go.
without the driveshaft on the seal has nothing to seal against. it's a pretty big hole...

No, that is not abnormal, when we changed the clutch in my 14 a while back, we removed the driveshaft and when the tranny was inclined a bit, fluid came out of it... that is normal, put the driveshaft back in before you fill it

Driveshaft will be there soon, hang on for a few days but go ahead and replace the rear seal since you're there, there's no gaurantee of it's condition and it's cheap and easy to do right now.
