hey i moved to los angeles and im looking for a good shop to go to. i live in venice. i need to find a shop fairly quickly because i think one of my piston rings is gone. :smash: and depending on the price of a rebuild i might go sr20, so i would need a shop with that option. if anyone can help me out that would be awsome.

Wow.
Flame suit on big guy :) Just warnin ya ;)
SoCal is pretty much the center of the 240 industry, you'll have no shortage of shops... just cruise over to City of Industry and the surrounding area, there are literally several shops on the same block in some places.

there are soooooo many places doing 240sx right now. Closest to venice? Your best bet is probably south bay area like Torrance/Gardena/Carson area.
Signal Auto, ES Technical Roadsports, Enonvative Force (Good luck haha), Shine Street, SR20 Store
There's probably a good 40 shops within a 35 mile radius that will do SR related work

coolness, I was completely expecting flames galore... maybe the general maturity level of zilvia is going up a notch *gasp-shock*!!!
I'm a little confused by your reply tho... Mike and I tell you that there's a ton of reputable shops fairly close and your response is "fuck it"? Props to ya for deciding to do it yourself, but i hope that decision wasn't based on the responses to your post... cuz if so, i'm confooooosed :wtf:

well if you decide you want to check out a shop, we are opening a new place in the Torrance/Gardena area which is just down the road from venice. Name and stuff will be out in the next few days and we are going to specialize in different conversions and swaps than most people do and cleaner installs as well as parts. My partner is known around here for doing usual stuff like NA SR's with ITB's do a search on the eibach meet and you will see pics of the car or I can email you pics. He also was the first person to put a RB25 in a S14 6 years ago . In fact he did RB an install before McKinney even had the concept .
I come from Datsun 510's and 240z's and have been doing stuff with 240sx's since 1999. I wrote the auto to 5 speed faq and have converted over ten automatics to 5 speeds.
( shameless self promotion here hehehehhehehehhe)
