Probably a repost but I couldn't find it when searching, SSAC sets off alarm bells as I'm a long time honda guy and have seen many cracked manifolds on H-T.. Have heard that they are making better products recently however???

All this E-bay crap overwhelms me a bit anyone care to point out a reliable cheapish manifold and perhaps turbo outlet pipe! I assume there made for stock turbos or T2 flanged turbos anyway?. Thanks

greddy/trust turbo outlet is a direct bolt on

HKS from what i understand wont fit a LHD car w/ Sr20 (steering column gets in the way)

but from what i know, the new SSA manifolds are nice

jerry on lookoutdrift.com (the local drift association around here) is sponsored by SSA and just got a whole new setup and says it's sweet

SSA is a high volume medium-low quality parts distributor.

They have a LOT of happy and unhappy customers. They latest manifolds are suposedly better than their older ones. But it is a debatable topic for sure.

Most people consider them disposable manifolds because they are so cheap. The attitude of, "If it breaks, I'll just buy another one.."

I own one of the KA mani's, but i haven't installed it yet.

maybe for daily driving and spirited driving, but for the track I wouldnt thing that they are that great, but I dont know. Anyone have one on a full track only car, IE only hard driven?

hey, did they go through 2 revisions, because I know they had the originals that sucked then I know they added support brackets but thought that it still kinda sucked from reviews, or maybe im mistaken, is there a new one now from that one, anyhow, what are the your guys picks as far as alternatives at a semi reasonable price, last is mainevent can you elaborate on how he lost a turbo, I mean I can deal with having to spend 180 bux once in a great while, but if the turbo is in danger ill pass,

Yeah decent alternatives or any other people using the new manifolds??

The manifold will have broken at the flange for the turbo causing the turbo to fall off mjjstang I bet.. :ugh:

I have one of their "new" ones. It appears to be much better than the old version of theirs I had. The welds were much cleaner and the bracing is OK. Do not buy their divorced turbo outlet, it will not fit at all.

So do they actually flow better then the stock Sr turbo manifolds? Or do most of you guys have 240's?

it will flow much better, that's the whole point.
faster spool, more power, especially with a upgraded turbo

the guy that lost the turbo, was actually an OBX manifold, but it's a legitimate danger with ANY manifold, especially one prone to cracking.

but an entire chunk cracked off near the collector i believe, and went into the turbine housing...you can imagine what happened.

Well yeah, i was looking for a comparison to illustrate the quicker spool more power etc they are only flanged for T2 turbos aren't they? so you could bolt the upgraded turbo onto your factory manifold anyway..

With such a poorly made item you wouldn't expect a lot flow testing etc to go into it.

I've got one. the welds all look pretty good and they actually cleaned up the inside of the collector and stuff pretty well. More than I can say for DCSports equipment I've purchased in the past. It's getting coated right now by Performance Coating so with anyluck it should hold up better than a normal one. I'll let you all know how it goes.

They all look good. Even the $99.95 Ebay ones. That's the point. They make these things that look great and nice welds and everything. But as it sits SSA doesn't have that great of a rep.

Think about about it. If if cracks or worse case chips into you turbo you're fucked. Then it costs more than 100 bucks.

OMG search many posts on many forums have beent about how their mani's crapped out on them. Not just the sr ones the m3 headers and honda manifolds too.

You get what you pay for.

I have seen the manifolds notched where its bolts up to reduce flex but as far as just slapping it on your car, good luck.
