please excuse the atrocious ride height. Sold the HE's and the GR6's are on their way, but got sportlines on stock shocks for a couple weeks. Will get more pics later with all 4 polished and dropped.

That's all. Know some of you won't like, but I couldn't care less. I got the tires for free, and mine were shot, so I figured why not. Would prefer a bit wider, but they work. Oh yea, don't believe what tire shops tell you, stretching tires is cake. I was expecting it to be difficult to seat the bead on these, but it wasn't any harder than any other "properly" sized tire. In fact it was easier than many tires I mount on a daily basis.

whats the spec of the front wheel? is it 8 inch wide?
RBS14
03-20-2005, 10:15 PM
205/40 on a 9.
I know the wheel gap is so disgusting. I hate it.
No, I didn't clearcoat the wheels, just a coat of polish.
I actually like these tires. Good grip (not great) and I got like 10,000 miles out of my last set which included 3 drift events. They are also one of the few cheap tires I've found that don't chunk when drifting.
I didn't say no criticism, I said I don't care if you do critisize.
Yea, like I said, free tires are free tires.
Cheers

honda size tires hehe.
crazy stretch though. Stay away from big potholes.
overall look sort of reminds me when I had 16x8s with 215-40-16s on the front. tiny wheels, tons of fender gap

yo scotty the wheels look great. How long did each one take?
How did you stretch those tires? I tried stretching 225-40 on a 8 incher and could not get it to bead with 3 people pulling pushing and even sitting on the tire.
But yea wider would be nice.

the secret to getting a screted tire to seat is a BFH and lots of air pressure lol ^^

I have a question....what's the purpose of stretching the tire, or tires in general? I'm curious. Though, I must say, I am liking the rims alot.

The rims look nice polished. What polish did you use? How long till you have to polish them again to keep from weathering?

No, I didn't clearcoat the wheels, just a coat of polish.
you'll probably regret that decision later on as they become harder and harder to keep lookin nice. i suggest you clear them or better yet have them stripped and powder coated clear.

205/40 on a 9.

I also strongly suggest that you clearcoat your wheels. Bare aluminum will oxidize and look chalky.

only problem is that I've got 5 bajillion other things I need to spend my time and $$ on. So clearcoating thest things isn't on the list.
Luke, it was soooo easy. when I put them on, the bottom bead was sitting at the start of the bead on the rim and I pulled up the top bead so that it was over a part of the top bead on the wheel, and voila. Only took like 30psi to seat both beads. Also remember that cheetas are your friend. I thought I was gonna need to but was glad I didn't.
Cheers

well even spray paint clearcoat would do wonders. 20 bucks could save you some serious effort in the not so distant future. then you could just drop some real dough on a good powder coat job when you're ready.

yes its nice, but please don't tell me that you think its purely for the style/look factor.
there is a method to the 'madness'
RBS14
03-22-2005, 12:57 PM
yea, there is absolutely a reason for it besides it looking like the sex. steering response is so much greater with these tires on now compared to 225/45's. It feels awesome. can't wait to get the coils and rears stripped and mounted, it's gonna feel like a gokart.
And they'll let me drop the car about another 1/2".
oh yea, you missed a p, it's hippari.
cheers

you could do the same stretch with a 8" wide rim and not have a bunch of lip lookin all ghetto on the sides.

Makoto, ur wrong about having the same stretch on an 8". I have a 205 on 8" and have 225 on a 9" (the same amount of stretch as 205 on 8") and neither feel as responsive as the 205 on 9".
