OT: do both these cars have the same kit? I really like the skirts and rear.... and I've NEVER seen a rear valence that I didn't think was fugly. The wheels are pretty nice too, with u could see htem better in the pix... talk about over stretched tires tho, damn.
edit: NM, Vertex I see :) on and going back On topic, my wheels are Enkei RS-E's +42 but you can only tell in the rear cuz my spacers are MIA... fronts were flush b4 the Strawberry Face

Awesome 4 lug wheels. What are they and is there a place we can get them?
those wheels are 18x8.5 fronts 18x9.5 rears they are available in 4 lug and 5lug. those wheels sit flush without spacers. I help out at the shop in riverside called PROTO. IIRC a set is like 650 i believe. hypertek didn't get a shot. but they color matched a set with the color of a red 240. they do offer color matching the spokes if you want. contact number for the shop is 951.276.3395 ask for Fingers, or Aaron(I will help you out personally if you call when im there)
Specs on the wheels fronts in 8.5 have 2.25 lip rears in 9.5 have 3.25 lip. also available in 17s but only in 17x7 and 17x9 which is f*cking ghey. im harassing the wheel manufacturer about making a 17x8.
Some of you who went to the last D-day saw a purple IS300. that is the shop owners car. yes he road races that thing and is planning on taking it out to a D-day event once he gf has his 3rd child.
:::yah way f*cking off topic but i left the info and specs that you need.

As far as I know, I have the only set. I ordered my online from www.gotwheelsandtires.com and they had to order them directly from Falken, which said they were the only set made at that point.
I will be adding the 30mm widebody front and rear, but I might rebuild and turbo my engine first.

Gotta love 4 lugs....old school and very unique styles. Mostly out of production...that is good...:)
These are my Austars...made down under, and out of production. Got them brand new , with new tires, balanced, mounted for 750 dollars.
Yes 4 lugs are sometimes cheaper too........

Hanabis are like $720 for a set. Any tire place that sells Falken tires can get you Falken wheels. I don't really like the look of them, but they have the right size/offset. I think more wheel manufacturers are going to start getting into the whole 4 lug RWD size wheels. Just be patient.

yeah, i picked up the last set they had in stock. but he said they would be ordering some more at the end of this week. ends up being $754 with tax :( but they look way better than Hanabi's for the same price. But the 17's are cheaper, only come in 17x9 +35 though, and lip isn't as big as these 18's.
thas not too bad of a price for 18s... how much do they weigh? i'm tryin to figure out what kinda of wheels to get, i'm leaning towards enkei rpf1's

they aren't light by any means... if you want light, get the Hanabi's. These are definitly "show/daily" wheels, not "track" wheels. They look sweet though, have huge lip(like 3.25" in the rear), are wide, and are 4-lug. :)
your not going to tell us what they are? :-\
I know what wheels they are, I've been looking for those wheels but I can't find anyone that sells them.
What offsets do the 17's come in? 17x9 all around :wiggle:
As far as I can tell the 17x9 comes in a 35 & 40 offset.
And I just found out who sells them.

socalsilvia, what is the offsets for the 18s?
socalsilvia, what is the offsets for the 18s?
From what I see the 18in offsets are:
18x7.5 +38
18x8.5 +35
18x9.5 +35
They may have some other 18in offsets but that's all I can find.

yup... offsets are +35 :(
kinda weak, but i saw them over at Proto on an S13 and an S14 and they sat flush.

SoCalSilvia-did you see the red set they had on the red s13. they are offering color matching to your car if you like or if you want them completely stripped and polished. I was going to shoot pics of a set they had on a red s14. unfortuanately the owner picked up the car early, then the weather went to shit.

dude the set on that red s13 with the color matched spokes/face and polished lip looked AMAZING. i would get mine done like that but i'm painting my car black and i like the whole gunmetal with polished lip thing on black. if my car was red or some other bright color, i would so get them matched like that s13.

Wow, will these fit a S13 with no fender work and no stretch?
I'm thinking a 255/35 in back and a 225/40 or 235/35 in front. When will they have more in stock?

The wheels in question are made by SportMax, correct? I can't imagine the quality and strength would be great but for the price, sizing, and great looks it's worth it to buy a spare set when the others bend.

If you stretch tires you can fit them without any fender work. Proto had these on 3 S13's and 1 S14 and none of them had any fender work done. They were just stretching 225/40's on the wheels.

But did proto run camber on the wheels. My issue would be wheel clearance. 0 camber or not?

anyways, those are the wheels i LOVE on an S13, they look perfect. i didnt buy any b/c i got my nismos. they are 17x9+38 in back, and they sit perfectly flush. they almost stick out a little bit. i dialed in a little more camber so they wouldnt rub either. so a 17x9 +27 with 10 mm spacer will need a hella fender pull, fender flare, or mad tyte camber. some of you guys go way to extreme on these offsets. 17x8 +33, 17x9 +38 fit EXCELLENT.

OK guys... i got my tires today and put the wheels on. Now that they are my car, here is what I can tell you:
1. Fronts did not clear my coilovers. Needed a 6mm spacer.
2. Wheels sit FLUSH despite 35 offset
3. Rear fenders will need to be pulled if I want to lower my car anymore(which I do, so I will)
I am running 225/40's in the front and 265/40's in the rear. I went in thinking I was going to run 225's all around, but when they put the 225/40 on the rears(9.5"), it did not look good. Then we slapped on a 265/40 and it looks sweet. I am also running camber in the back, not sure how much, but a decent amount. My buddy is bringing my digi-cam back right now so I will snap some pics in about an hour.

That guy has incredible pricing on the 17" too.
I was thinking about going with a spaced out 17x7 in front and the 17x9 in back just to get some wheels on the car so I can make sure I don't need to pull/roll but some people have said the 7-9 stagger is a terrible idea. Ahh well...I'll figure something out.

I think the 17s are 17x7 +35 and 17x9 +35, but yeah, that sounds like a little too much stagger, and that 7 up front is just too narrow for my tastes... Bryan
See...I guess I just don't see why that would be too much stagger. This isn't a track car for me so as long as it sticks to the roads during spirited driving I'm fine. I think it'd be fine with spacers for me but some of the other hardcore drift/road race guys might have a problem with understeer or something.
That aside, I'd definitely be interested in a group buy but I don't know how you're going to beat that guy's pricing. If these are the same wheels Proto is selling, which it looks like they are, then either the guy on eBay is taking a big hit or Proto is getting rich overnight.
upSLIDEdown
04-06-2005, 10:36 AM
I would say it's a combination of the 2. Proto is probably selling them for a little more than normal, because they know people will pay it. That's just smart business. Do it while you can, cause now that people are finding out about the guys on ebay, I doubt Proto will sell anywhere near as many unless they drop the price. It could also be that the ebay guys are buying in bulk and getting a better deal on the wheels. Either way I'll see what they say. They may not be able to do any better, but they may if we have enough people....

He couldn't do much better on the price guys, so it's not worth it for me to try to deal with it. He said he only had like 30 sets left, and they were selling well the way he's doing it now, so there isn't really any reason for him to do a GB. If we had 10 sets he said he could do $400 plus shipping (instead of $420). Shipping for east coast would be $100 and for like oregon would be $60. If someone else wants to call him and work it out go ahead, but it's not worth it to me just to save $20. The auction starts at $420, Buy It Now of $450, if you call him direct, he'll sell them to you for the $420. His name is Steven. Just letting you guys know what the deal is. I'll be ordering my set tomorrow.

Those wheels were also an option on base model s14 koukis and they came standard on most trims of the kouki 180sx. But yeah, those arent the wheels on that car and those are stock brakes.

*racing hart knock offs* 16X7 +15 monobloc wheels. Not on my s13 yet, cause I haven't gotten it running, but I'm going to be running 215 55 16's most likely. The offset is mostly in the rear of the wheel in the lug base, so it should clear z32 calipers easily, or with small spacers atleast. Not huge lip, but a fairly deep offset.

I honestly think 15"s look cleaner on an s13 than 17"s do. 17"s can be tacky if they are not done right, ae: if they are just big, but not wide, they aren't doing much. But 17"s looks cleaner on s14s then 15"s do.

Dude... are you serious? maybe if you actually read what he wrote and i wrote youd see why i asked
josh - "These are 700 shipped + tax if located in california."
me - " How much shipped to NY" .
most likely a different price.

lol... +tax if in california. He is reminding CA buyers that tax is not included in that price. The price for the wheels is $700 SHIPPED, unless you are in California where it will be more expensive because of tax.
