Just wondering how many of you will be interested in the Rota Slipstreams 17x9 4x114.3 +20 in black w/ a polished lip? Reply if you're interested!

Granted those are ROTA Grids. But still, I'm not real comfortable after seeing pics like that.

BTW,are you a Groupbuy Vendor?

Why +20 offset? I am sure prices would be nice too or an estimated price if possible

SoCalSilvia
03-16-2005, 06:15 PM
ThatGuy- I have pictures of Advans cracked, does that mean that all Advans will crack? No, so please don't post that type of junk where it is not needed. There is a thread to talk about the Rota wheels durability, that is where that picture is, and where it needs to stay. If someone posted up Advan wheels for sale, should I post the picture I have of them cracked?

matlock- +20 offset is the best median between S13/S14 for fitment purposes so I think that its a pretty good offset to choose in 4-lug, just like the TE-37 replica group buy. I was told the price would be around $660 for a set.

thats not rota grid, thats rota attack.

well rota is a good company, those that bought the first round of the rota attacks, were later replaced by the company

AztecTT
03-16-2005, 06:38 PM
SilviaDriver - Yup you're right, those are the Rota Attack. Actually they offer lifetime structural warranty on all their wheels, so if the wheels ever crack/ break, Rota will replace it.

They also make all of their wheels go through stress tests before shipping them to the US, something that not even Racing Hart does, as I was told.

The Slipstream is the lightest wheel that Rota makes. 17x9 is estimated to be around 19 lbs. Price is estimated to be $660/set.

SilviaDriver

i wouldnt mind a set of rota circuit 10 in 16/17x9 +20

personally slipstreams are played to the bone, so it would be a beter idea to use another wheel instead. i wouldnt want the torques, only because a flat face torque looks retarded, i rather get the real deal for a emotion lookalike

you have PM

AztecTT
03-16-2005, 07:16 PM
Rota told me that they'd only do the special order on the Slipstream because it's the most popular style. However, I'm trying to get them to make some 17x9 in another style. Bottom line is, that style has to be popular, so they're already making a large quantity.

congratulations you found it... now go look for pictures of Volks and SSRs cracking and I suggest you avoid them since they are :rofl::rofl::rofl:

I'd be interested. how wide is the polished lip on these?

AztecTT
03-16-2005, 09:40 PM
Since these are special orders, there are no actual products yet. I'd expect the lip to be 1.5"-2" on 17x9 +20

is it concave? if so im interested any lower offsets? like 10's or so?

Var
03-17-2005, 12:01 AM
i think +15 would be the ideal offset for that rim size. and if it WAS in plus 15 i would be interested in one, maybe 2 sets. keep us updated...o and price is key of course. they should not cost more than 200-250 a piece.

sw20>>s14
03-17-2005, 12:18 AM
i would be interested in other styles in those sizes. let us know if rota cracks :keke: ...i mean caves in making other styles...

There are no pics of the 17x9 Slipstreams, simply because they do not exist now. If there is enough interest, Rota can take a special order and make them.

Silverbullet

i'd like Rota Grid in that size...

the slips ususally go on the Hondas.

I thought the face only sinks on 10" (or larger, I'd assume) rim with low offset...?

Nah, that's just the FNO1RC style. Plenty of rims have the sunken/concave spokes.. You just have to spend the right amount of $$

03-17-2005, 01:39 PM
I'd be down for a set of them. as long as the group buy if it goes down gives me time to get cash together after i pick up a set of kei office wheels. be great bitch rims to beat on

Do they make the GT3's in an offset that would work on the 240?

AztecTT

Rota only made the GT3 in 15x7 and 16x7, +40 offset.

well at least do you have a basic pic of Slipstreams? I do not know lot about rota wheels.

SoCalSilvia
03-18-2005, 02:12 PM
any timetable on this?

AztecTT
03-19-2005, 01:50 PM
After the size/offset/lug pattern/finish are finalized, I can place an order with Rota, and then it'll take 2 months for them to make and ship them here.

Rusker
03-20-2005, 03:25 PM
This is for ONLY the slipstreams?

AztecTT
03-20-2005, 06:24 PM
I'll try to see what other styles they are willing to do special order. It seems like there is a bigger interest in Grid or Boost?

SoCalSilvia
03-20-2005, 09:57 PM
Personally I like the Torque's(Work Emotion replica's), and Rota already makes them in 17x8 for the new STI's so making a 17x9 shouldn't be too hard.

s13panda2004
03-21-2005, 12:36 AM
17x9 +20 isn't bad. But the lugnut pattern sucks balls though.. 4x114.

I would be interested if they were dirt cheap and came 5x114

raging panda
03-21-2005, 01:01 AM
there is enought 5 lug dirt cheap wheels in great offsets, you dont need anymore.

we need more 4 lug wheels in good offsets, this is a good step towards that. I would like a GT3 replica in a lower offset, the red would be hot. otherwise, any of the previously mentioned 17 " would be fine in a 17X9 +20

SilviaDriver
03-21-2005, 04:46 PM
it never hurts to have more options for 5lug.

i vote 5!!

HyperTek
03-21-2005, 05:41 PM
how bout uni pattern!! 4 and 5lug.. so then use posers can say "yah i got 5lug wheels on" haha.. and it opens the wheel to a bigger market.. and even mustangs!

dude, i wouls LOVE to get in on this!!! butyeah, id need some 5 lugs!!! i like the idea of the universial lug pattern or what ever where itll fit both 4 and 5x114.3!! cause i will be doing an 5 lug convo and also i can use them on the FC ;) hehehe

Guys, Rota will only do special order on 1 size, 1 lug pattern, 1 offset, and 1 finish. I'm not sure if the 9-hole (5x114 & 4x114) idea is possible, but even if they can do so, wouldn't it look weird on the car? Remember that the center cap is only as big as the hub bore, it doesn't cover the lugs... I think I should find a way to get a "poll" on what everyone wants, and everyone can have a chance to vote. Please bear with me, I'll post updates!

Ugly or not, if it comes with both patterns im down too, not a fan of rotas too much though.

Shin_Kudo

Put me as a possible for a set in 4lug. I need decent rims really bad, my +35/42 FNs are crap for fitment.

Yeah, make them in 5 lug!! Just because it has a lower offset..doesn't mean you'll get a fatter lip.

Saisoku
03-23-2005, 03:37 PM
4 lug with a +15 offset would be nice enough for me to really concider it. How is shipping going to work?

AztecTT
03-23-2005, 07:45 PM
Price should be $660/set, and shipping should be ~$100 in the US.

raging panda
03-24-2005, 12:06 AM
why would you guys mess with 700 dollar rotas in 5 lug when you could get other wheels that are probably better for cheaper, and look way better? I'm down with this as long as its 4 lug with a +20 or lower offset, 0 offset if theyre gonna go 7in wide.

03-24-2005, 12:14 AM
