SR20 Blacktop running 62 ECU

Hey guys,

I know the blacktop and the redtop are slightly different and use different sensors such as coolant temp sensor and O2 Sensors. So, would swapping a 62 ECU into my car running blacktop cause the poor gas milage that I'm getting now?

I'm getting about 150 miles / tank of 94 octane and just cruising around town normally.

i ran an E5 ECU on a redtop and didn't have a problem with gas milage or anything else at all. I know its not the same situation, but i just thought i'd like to share.

Should work unless you have a 97-98 blacktop. 94-96 S13 blacktop are exactly the same with some minor changes as far as some sensor and the heat sinks on the head. Try swapping for another O2 sensor, thats usually what kills gas mileage on SRs.

I have an early S13 blacktop and it runs a 62 ecu. Average mileage is around 21-22mpg. You should be getting a bit more than 300 miles on a tank if you're just cruising. Try checking your O2 as mentioned and also all your fuel lines for leaks.
