View Full Version : SR wont even Turn Over?!

wassup! well finally got the starter to work...i juss had to crank the motor manually...so it finally cranks...but won't even turn over...so it doesn't start...not sure what the problem is...i've read that other ppls cars turn over but mine doesn't even reach that far...so please help?!?!? THnX! :bowrofl:

you saying your car cranks but doesnt turn over???
i need to know what exactly you mean by that and i might be able to help

i think that by turning over he means that it wont catch and start on its own. check to see if u're getting fuel to the engine. check your fuel lines and fuel pump. also check to see if u are getting spark.

do basics: fuel, spark, timing. also test ignitor chip if you dont get spark.

coo...thnx for the response guys...

fuel...i juss take out the fuel lines to see if any are coming out right?
spark...not sure exactly what to do...don't want to blow anything out
timing...i juss TDC it right?
how do you check the ignitor?thnx! :bowrofl:

I posted this on ur other post...
Double check your timing...follow PHASE2MOTORTREND.com's timing walktru. Follow the valvecover off instructions.

Check fuel: make sure pumps goin when you turn it ON *not start* Check the fuel line so you can feel the pressure build up. Smell of fuel on the plugs too once you try to start the car. ALso make sure you didnt cross the fuel lines. Fuel filter side connects towards part by the manifold, fuel return is off the regulator.

Spark: ground the sparkplug to the engine when you try to start and see if it sparks up.

If you have all that and still wont start. Recheck all your connections again. Also sometimes, pinching the fuel line inlet a bit while cranking it helps. Try pinching the hose with a pair of fliers while u start it
