I have a 1997 Honda del sol Si at the moment and am looking to trade it for an S13 hatch. 91-94 is the desired years. The car is clean in and out. Trunklid has a dent but I have a new trunklid to go with the car that needs paint. Basically all stock. It has a Viper Alaram, skunk2 short throw with knob(will supply stock civic si shifter/fake type r knob with sale/trade). Car has 75k on the clock. For a honda its basically just broken in. KBB says 5200$ for the car. Because of the trunklid I'm asking 4500$. Or if I get it fixed I'm gonna knock it up to an even 5000$. Mechanically the car is perfect. Only problem I've had with it was the fuel filter getting clogged after I ran it bone dry between fill ups. I changed it out with a new one and all is well. Obviously it won't be a straight up trade for a stock s13 so please don't ask for a straight up trade. I will straight up trade with already swapped 240s or I can even throw some cash on it depending on the mods of the car.
Pics are a couple posts down.....
You say 1997 Del Sol, there is no 97 Del Sol. Then you say 91-94. So what year is it from? You want to trade for a swapped 240SX? What kind of swap do you have on the Del Sol? Stock B16A?
A good swapped S13 240SX is worth way more than your blue book value. Better check your numbers!

I believe the last year Del Sol is 95. 91-94 is the year s13 he wants.

You guys should have checked the facts before posting. The del sol was made from 93-97 in the US and 92-97 in Japan. Del Sol is all stock no swap. The Del Sol Si came with a SOHC VTEC motor. 93-95 was one body style(has aux lights in bumper). While the 96-97 has no AUX lights in the bumper.

yeah, edmund's has it listed... http://www.edmunds.com/tmv/used/1997/honda/index.html?tid=edmunds.u.tmvmchoose.yearindexconte nt..0.honda* Say's it's worth $6900 in a private party sale, even with the trunklid, this is a great deal!

he said SI so it's the SOHC if it was the del sol vtec then it'd be the DOHC one

I have a 93 240sx hatchback that I am about to rebuild the engine on (I have an engine from a 96 with 97,000 that I am swapping in) It's basically stock, but in very good condition. Whats your idea of a good trade?

I know you 240 guys see these cars as teh l33test automobiles in t3h w0rld. But in reality lets price it out for a 240 with juat a stock sr20 no mods.
Redtop SR20: 2800 for a complete half cut or if you just want to count only the motor it's like what 1800-2000 for a complete motor swap w/ ecu, harness, maf and all that goodness?
91-94 240 in decent condition: 2000 roughly depending on if the body is super clean or not.
so thats 4800$ or maybe only 4000$...im asking 4500 id say a stock sr20 240 and my car would be a good trade for someone who is looking for a del sol or a 5 spd honda in good condition.

Well you're in alabama so I probably wouldn't even consider a trade because I don't want to travel too far. But I'd say if the body was straight with little to no imperfections it'd be worth like 2000-2500 so I'd want another 2k on top maybe. I mean if the body was super clean then maybe I'd want less but most of the 240s you see today aren't in the greatest shape being 14+ yrs old.

No offense dude but you probably wont find an sr20 240 for a straight up trade. Id trade a stock 240 for a stock del sol. Sohc sucks bro, sorry but I work at a Honda performance shop and that just isn't where it's at for del sol owners. I had a b16 delsol and it was slow. I havent seen an sr swap yet that only cost 2,800 bucks. Bump :goyou:

You never know though. I figured I'd prolly just buy a 240 first then outright sell the del sol in the summer. But I thought I'd give a trade a try. And SOHC doesn't suck :P lol There are alot of SOHC turbo guys on honda-tech running well into the 13s on the stock motor with t-25s and the greddy 15G turbo. SOHC is teh win!

I think you should sell your Honda and then get a s13. Just my 2 cents.

Lol I like how you mock me for wanting to start a 240 project and labeling me as a "bandwagoner" I suppose. Yet I joined this site before you.

I've owned two S13 in the past year and sold both for $3500, without having to try very hard. I now own a turbo'd S14 that is on this board for sale, and a 2000 honda civic SI (with only 9850 on the odometer) I do own both a honda and a Nissan because I love to drive fast cars doesn't matter who makes them. Good luck on your search for a SR swapped 240 but I have to agree with everyone else and think its gonna be hard to find one under your terms.

Doesn't that suck? Ive always owned Hondas and everyone calls me that too but I don't care, If your even mildly interested in drifting or just having fun with rwd besause your tired of fwd then you are gonna love an sr powered 240. Trust me, I do. If you hate your fwd understeer though then id buy an s14 because s13's understeer hard, you can trust me on that too. It can be helped with expensive susp. products but why not start with something that doesn't need to be fixed ya know. Just remember all those arseholes that call you names had to start out at the bottom too, they aren't any better than you....bitches. Good luck again, BUMP! :rawk:

with that sohc vtec del sol. toss on a JRSC. and have a few extra SC pulleys made. and just run that sucker on the road course. perfect track hoar and daily driver. besides, ladies find a spot in there heart for the del sol. think of it this way. better way for poo-tang.

Well, if you have a motor and just drop it into a bone stock 240SX and do all the labor yourself. Yeah, your numbers make sense. But that is rarely the case... there's a lot more cost involved and people don't just do a motor swap and have it completely stock. Also, a decent S13 will easily go for $3000-$4000. $2000 will get you a rolling rust box.
I used to own a 2000 Civic Si, brand new from the dealer. I sold it and got a S13, now total cost wise I am breaking even... so it isn't cheap at all.
Go sell your car and then look for a car. I don't think the trade appeals to anyone here. If you had a Del Sol VTEC with the B16A, I think it'd be a better trade.
