took off the backseats, panels, covers, etc... now there is a real annoying high pitched sound that comes from the rear when i past 3-4k or so. what could be the cause of this? i have checked almost every single screw and nothing is loose. thanks

i noticed the same sound when i had my back seat down, either your fuel pump (man they are loud in these things) of your black hole. you know the hole on the side of your hatch (assuming thats what you have) that collects things, sometimes dropping them on the road. hope that helps

All that cushy stuff was keeping it quiet, thats kinda what happens when you strip your car. Regret it now dontcha bitch

You know you reserve the right of putting all that shit back in and making the sound go away, right?

my rear seat squeaks a little bit, but i just put a small bushing type thing where it mounts up, so ive got that taken care of. My car is loud though, lots of road noise (no carpet/sound deadning).

my friend said it might be the ground for the speakers so i have to go mess with that. haha and no i dont regret it either. also coz i have an ssautochrome exhaust that thing is so loud so i just blast my ayumi hamasaki hahaha.

have a friend ride in the trunk while you drive around. not only is it an effective means of locating squeeks but its funny as hell when you sling the tail around at 30mph :)

i used to love ayu

well, i stripped my car (more so than before) last week as well, the sound was actually less than i expected.

oh, funny story. i got my tools and went to town on every panel, tab, extra screws and brackets. Unfortunately what i thought was a bracket that was just for holding a panel was actually attached to my trunk, i unfastened it and *PLUNK* the left end of my trunk got unattached, lol, it was much fun putting it back, since its attached to two preloaded metal bars, ARGH. moral of the story, think before you undress your baby.
