Im curious what Quick Release/Hub to use for my HICAS s13. I dont know what is different in the steering wheel, but HICAS is completely removed from my car, subframe swapped and everything. So its not a big deal if I can use any Hub/Quick Release that would normally disable/hinder my HICAS system. Although Im not sure if thats the problem with running Hubs/QR on HICAS cars. So let me know what I can do!

I currently run an HKB hub on my own S13 hatch. I've used a Momo hub as well as this HKB no problems at all. Quick release shouldn't affect anything, mainly the hub. HICAS steering rack is different but I haven't noticed the supposed difference in degrees.

I used to have HICAS but swapped it out with a Kazama lock bar.

I use the HKB hub from jspec.com and a pandagarage spline type quick release. I've had it since October and haven't had any problems. The red HICAS light does come on once in a while though...

i've owned i hicas hatch for a couple of years and have a few different steering wheels on it. 2 stock s13, wheels, a s14 one (no airbag obviously), a nardi classic w/ daikei hub, and now a r32 gts-t wheel.
i think the whole story behind hicas not working w/ certain steering wheels/hubs is bull sh*t. the r32 wheel i have didn't come from a gts-t w/ hicas, the 2nd s13 wheel was from a base model, the s14 wheel was from a SE, and the nardi/daikei hub combo was supposedly made for hicas cars, but it made no difference.

i think the true theory behind the hicas system comes from the hub/wheel not sedning a signal to the steering rack or whatever if it's not made for the car. however, if that were true, then my original steering wheel wiring harness (hacked up to accomodate r32 wheel now) would have more wires than a normal s13 SE w/ cruise/horn.

I think I will get a FET quick release since its 1" spacer vs 2-2.5" like most. As for the wheel, probly get a Nardi Classic since it comes in 330mm. Im a ricer so I like the black/grey Nardi Leader, but its another 50$ and if someone does get into my car, well the wheel would probly be the first thing to do unless its removed already. I just need to find a used Nardi Classic 330, as Im too poor to safe guard my car. :)

iono bout the green hkb box, i got the pink box....

dont think it really matters though unless someone was concerned about their hicas system

it didnt matter to me as long as the wheel/hub/quickrelease would be fully functional

well the thing was that when a friend was helping me put it on, the hub didn't want to go on. Anyone else tried puting non-hicas hub on a hicas car?

Anyways, does anyone know where i can get the hkb pink box for hicas cars?
