My valve cover bolts leak oil when i push the car hard. Anyone know why? I think its because it needs a washer that goes before the bolt but im not sure. Does it need to be torqued down... how much?

Its a 112,000 mile ka24de on a s14.

put on a new gasket and tighten it

use RTV or anaerobic sealer (forgot which) when you replace gaskets.

ohhh... happened to me before...the ka head is really weak. and the threads seem to give out.. so the oil leaks.. i had to rethread all of my valve cover bolts cause they where all stripped.. if you take off that bolt and you see metal shavings.. then you got to drill and tap to make a new hole.. either that or its the valve cover gasket, DONT OVER TIGHTEN THESE BOLTS!!! it will strip very easily!!

Crap i didnt do it but i guess thats what happen. I thought they were loose and tighten them up. Is it necessary to make new holes because daily driving i cant even see them leeking but when i drive it hard all day it looses about 1/5 of a spoonful of oil. Aint much but i just thought it was missing the washers. Right now its like that because i have drove it for about 600 miles without cleaning the valve cover.

there are no washers. at least mine doesn't have them.

not brand new holes... just rethread them. which requires making the original hole a little bigger.. and losing any amount of oil is bad...and dude check your spark plugs.. i bet there flooded with oil, cause those top bolts are what secures it
