Well, the 240sx's have sucked me in and I am really hopeing to get one. I wanted to know a few things, 1. Why do the 95 240sx's weigh so much more than the 96's. 2. Is there any difference between a ka24de in an s13 than in an s14 (I know there was a SOHC motor in some of the s13's)? 3. Do I need to put a bigger head gasket in with the NSPORT stage 1 kit to run 7 PSI safely and reliably? 4. What are your recommendations on which is the best year for the 240sx? Oh yeah, which ones came with LSD's?

ahh, i can't exactly answer all the questions, but i can help you out w/ a few, since i'm assuming you have an MKI, i'm thinking 'bout an MKI as a track car &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> &nbsp;when i'm too rich, that is...

the s13 came in SOHC (KA24E), that is the 89-90, anything from 91-98 they are all the same DOHC engine (KA24DE), to my knowledge, the 95-98 KA24DE's are better tuned and have a better mid range power.

in the s13, the best car would be the 91, for some reason, it has a bigger exahust cam (or intake...) and runs 0-60 in 7.9 compair to my 93 which runs 0-60 in 8.4

btw, welcome &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

1) They don't.
2) Basically the same engine, though there are some differences (distributor/coil setup, for example).
3) 7psi will be fine at stock compression, so a thicker head gasket isn't needed (it's not a particularly great way to lower compression, anyway).
4) There is no "best year". There are differences from year to year that might make one more attractive to *you* than another year (and, BTW, '91 wasn't the only year for the "hot" cams: it's been documented that '92 has the same grind, and I've never seen anything presented anywhere that makes me believe that '93 and '94 are any different).

LSDs were available on a dizzying assortment of 240s. Two basic rules: if it has HICAS, it has VLSD; if it's an '89-'90, it doesn't. Other than that, you just gotta check it out.
