I'm getting shaggy, its been 2 months. I hate getting my hair cut because I have never had a great experience with it.

At least not in this country.

So where do you guys go? Do you just go to Great Clips where they don't even use scissors? The metrosexual place at the mall that costs $30? A salon where all they know is women's hair? A barber shop where they make you look like you're in boot camp?

:bash: Decisions decisions. Help me out here.

get a pair of clippers and shave it off even steven, thats what ive done for a long time now.... you save a hell of a lot of cash in the long run.

:edit: sorry didnt realize you wanted a womans haircut... lol i guess your just screwed.

I'd do that but short hair makes me look like a caricature of myself. Plus my ears kind of stick out so it looks terrible.

I was considering being all emo about it and trying to cut it myself, but I'm scared of messing it up too much.

well then just let it grow

Chernobyl

i was letting it grow... but its becoming a burden. It's at this stage where it just looks terrible, and I can't make it look good any way i try. So I'm just going to get it cut to 1/2 its current length.

I think I'm going to hop in the car and just go to the first place I see. I'll post results in a bit.

I found some fancy place and made an appointment for tomorrow.

Then spent most of my haircut funds on a Chipotle chicken burrito and an 8-pack of Guiness.

We have this one place in town where the stylists are all female and wear lingerie while cutting your hair. Sounds like fun, but I'm more concerned with getting a good cut.

10 bucks would be nice though. By the looks of the place I went in, I think I'm out at least $25.

man i get my hair cut by this lady here in VA who i shell out $28 a cut.... but in the 3 years i've never came outta there with a fucked up haircut so i consider the money well spent...

Besides there is a couple stylists in there i would throw it to, one is 42 and looks like she is 24.... swear to god....

wow... zilvia is truly a online community... hahaha. Nice.

Yeh, i say DIY, saves money, and its not as frustrsting if ur hair looks jacked cuz u cant blame another person... I been cutting my hair since I was in Jr high... so after a while u get beter and better. Still takes me like a hr to set up, cut, clean up, shower, but I save $$$ and I got a cleaner fade than anyone who ever paid for it :]

I've had mixed luck with the generic haircut chains... I find if you go to a place like haircuttery or supercuts or something, only go when it's not busy. If it's busy, they'll rush you and fuck something up.

I did the clipper thing for a while. I never really got used to the way it looked. I had the same problem, I always felt like my ears stuck out. My gf liked it, go figure. I didn't.

A barbershop CAN do a good men's haircut besides just a high n' tight.

I'm guessing right now you're at that unintentional mullet phase of hair growth... where it seems to grow really fast in the back for no reason... I hate that.

i have paid for a hair cut maybe 4 times in the past 6 years... now my hairline keeps migrating further north so i see no need to snaz things up, just let me shave it.... but those few times they did a hellofa job. for 9 bucks, go figure you feel like a jack ass if you hand him the 10 and ask for change... so he got a tip no matter what too lol

Chernobyl

well I went to the place i stopped by last night. The guy was pretty good and I'm happy with how the trim worked out. I cut it quite a bit. I think I'll go back in a few weeks and get it trimmed up again. It's nice to find a good stylist.

So for the record, that's one thumbs up to gay stylists at beauty salons. :bigOK:

^how do you know he was gay?

Chernobyl
03-11-2005, 08:10 PM
Gaydar, dude. JK

A female customer of theirs came up to him and they were playing around for a bit and then she jokingly said "are you sure you're gay?" To which he replied something along the lines of, "sorry, girlfriend"

Need more proof? Why do you care how I knew?

Because I have had mine 5 years now, now down to the small of my back, and to mention I JUST got home from the lady that I pay to maintain my own, and now after 2+ hours of washing, twisting and drying, I am back home and I need a nap... Low maintenence as a whole, since this is only a once every 4-6 week affair? yes. Easy? hell no
