Are you referring to Frank Miller's Sin City (The comic book)? If so, that would be cool, I'm surprised I haven't heard about it sooner..

yup, lets just hope its as good as the comic. Anyone know if the whole movie is going to be black and white with just colors here and there? In stuff mag. I got yesterday and it has the shots from the movie in color.

edit: anyone seen this trailer? http://www.apple.com/trailers/warner_independent_pictures/a_scanner_darkly.html

the movie looks fucking awesome, but that cast is HORRIBLE

kazuo
03-10-2005, 11:35 PM
The cast is fucking ABSURD

Are you nuts?

Mickey Rourke, Benicio del Toro, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Nick Stahl, Elijah Wood, Bruce Willis, et al.. and I know I'm forgetting a few big names as well.

And yeah.. the movie's black & white with colour here and there, just like the comic.. Frank Miller is Co-Director, and Robert Rodriguez is basically doing it frame-for-frame like the comic.

RAWK!!!

Shit this Movie is GOOd! Anyone that hasn't seen it, go see it! From an artistic point of view, its truely capture'd the feel of the comics. Casting was superbly done. I had a few doubts about casting Clive as Dwight, being as i hated King Arthur, but i was wrong. J. Alba was the best Nancy ever! Everyone fit their characters like they were born for the part! Even though major stars got "small" parts, anyone wanna guess how much they got? My teacher was workin on the whole "movie-azation" of the comic. If you hate B&W movies, this one will change you. Again, WATCH IT! "Nice coat you got there..."

60 years old or not, i would have piped her. I loved the innuendo in hartigans' story. Took away his weapon, then took away his other weapon. So many memorable quotes. I didn't like Miho tho. And Alexis Bedel shoulda gotten piped too!

Wasn't everyone? Sadistic as it might be, i wouldn't mind whipping her like Yellow Bastard. Just leave my weapons intact for later. Wish we had an Olde Town like that. Ours have been knocked up like hell. Everything sags, and i mean EVERYTHING!

Mmm...Jessica Alba...this film is becoming the next Napoleon Dynamite. By that I mean I get asked several times a week if I've seen it yet. Stop asking me. >_<

And Sin City is a badass song.

Cool movie.

Some stupid people were laughing and yelling when the yellow guy came out and commenting on everything happening on screen. I think jackasses at theaters ruin other people's experiences.

NAPOLEAN DYNAMITE was hella baddass!! haha... but as for SIN CITY, it has got to be hands down one of the best movies ive seen so far... the green screening was awesome, jessica alba was hot, the stories were on point, the colors were baddass... so far for everyone who said it sucked and didnt like it, i asked if they ever read the comic, and they all said no..

And Alexis Bedel shoulda gotten piped too!

I thought that's how it ended? With Josh Hartnett (sp?) giving her a "last" cigarette.

Sure we wouldn't see her getting killed but I think that's just implied.

I like the film, definitely interesting reading that it was only like $40 million to make due to the director's (Rodriguez) choice of medium and style compared to those $100+ million blockbusters that are produced every year.... and bomb.

I read that Frank Miller was really happy with the results too.

This will definitely be a cult classic.

I dunno about best movie ever, but it's definitely the best movie in a LONG time, and will most likely be one of the best of 2005 (but jeeze, not much competition if you look at the fodder that's coming out this year, ugh)... oh... and speaking as someone who was thrown into martial arts at 7, and studied for almost 2 decades, Miho was badass.

I dunno if Devon Aoki has prior training ,or is just a natural (or maybe the editors are just REALLY good hahhaha), but she was WAY more fluid and comfortable (looking) with a blade than Uma ever was, and I respect uma for training HARD. Thank god she had no lines, that would've ruined it.

Oh yes, and Jessica continues to be the most attractive female in history... has been ever since she came out of the pool in the Dark Angel pilot. The first person that brings up flipper will die tho.

by "piped' i mean (railed, taken "home", deflower, 'become a woman", etc etc) pick one.

Ithink theatres now should have those red vest cinema guys with a tazer and be allowed to shock assholes that ruin the movies. At our screening, So many people were cheering for EpisodeIII and quoting that big Fuzzy Pokemon creature. Luckily, someone put them all in place with one simple word. "NERD!"

Got em good!

I also thought the movie kicked major ass. I loved it. It was like watching a comic book lol. Reminds me a lot of Max Payne. I thought it had a really good story, and the effects were top notch. A+++ movie in my book.

I dont know about you fellas but alot of the times i go see a movie and i think its going to be good it ends up being a total waste of 10 dollars (Robots) i think this is going to be one of the best movies of the year and for years to come. The only thing i can find wrong with the movie is that it was presented in such a way that it made you think all these people knew eachother.

When did jackie boy interact with Marv?

I must have missed it when I, regrettably, went to the bathroom.

SilviaDriver

nobody knew each other, its juss stories that all happen at once, in the city. so they are juss showing it all at once, at different times.

hartigan story happined 8yrs prior to Marv, and during hartigan story the mayor was younger, and when he got out, Marv was out to find the mayor now priest or watever and is older.

WRONG. it was presented in such a way as to show that all this crazy stuff went down and that none of the main characters knew each other.

MARV is my hero.

Amazing fucking movie. But movies without an ending I want leave me feeling like shit after. A good movie with a whack ending leaves me frustrated, i'm frustrated. Enough said.

The film / post production was absolutly insane, I loved the slightly out of this world feeling the entire movie gave to the audience.

Can't wait for fantastic4. Did you know im Mr.Fantastic? Get Jessica Alba near me and i'll STRETCH! Well, enlarge... fuck it, everyone agrees that jessica Alba is hot, right?

And SinCity did have an ending, just an open one. Being as SinCity is a town with Mafiamen, Crooked cops, Loose HOT whores, it will never have a happy ending. '07, just get ready for the next "issue."

actually that's wrong... dwight and marv know each other, which is why they go after damien lord together (in the comic book). go read "A Dame To Kill For".

BTW, Jessica Alba is gonna be in that new Fantastic 4 movie
yea and from what i've seen, it just looks fucked up... i love fantastic four and jessica alba, but she's not up for the role imo... i'm sure it'll be a good movie, but she'll never fill in the shoes of sue storm....

revat619
04-06-2005, 12:43 AM
The thing about fantastic four is, it isnt really about her filling the role of sue storm, its about her filling that tight little jumpsuit. C'mon, you know thats the reason she was cast for the role! Wrong for the role? Most likely. Wrong for the costume? I think not. :D

And just for the record, Bruce Willis' character is gay. Nancy was friggin hot. 60 years old or not, if you knew you were gonna kill yourself, you might as well enjoy your last day here. :D

All kidding aside though, that movie was awesome. Definitely on my list for one of the best films this year.
