When you get your alignment done at a regular place e.g. Discount Tire, do they adjust them?

er no. they still use camber bolts. i had to stand by them and tell em what to do. basicly tell em u want the bolts parked and adjust the camber ONLY throug Ruca. i dont know, works good for me.

If you shop around there are some people that know what the hell they are looking at or they just ask you whats adjustable. I live Colorado Springs Co and I only trust 1 person for my alignment and the only thing I tell him is what I do and he takes care of the rest Im only the machine for about 15 min and thats with T/ rods, camber plates, tierods and RUCA. I go quite frequetly to change settings between drift and track days.

I went back to the shop with the guy that was doing my alignment at NTB to make sure he did it right. I didnt even have to tell him he already knew, i was suprised he did but he got it right.Guess it just depends on the place and how expericend they are.

It's pretty simple to figure out.
if a full time alignment person can't figure out what to do, i'd rethink having him even touch my car.

Go someplace that does custom alignments otherwise you'll have to spend all day arguing with the damn guy about how setting your camber at -3 won't kill you.

I just hit up the firestone shop near my house. the use the photocell alignment racks. The guy there loves to align my car because everything it adjustable. Initially he set my rear camber bolts at -2* of camber then he noticed the adjustable arms. So he reset it back to 0* and used my RUCAs to set the camber. What is also nice is that he drives the car around the block to allow the settings to settle, then he goes back and rechecks the settings to see if they changed at all.

Is there anyway to adjust these when they are bolted on to the car? The spherical mount has to be unbolted right? I cant visualize any other way to adjust them.

Rucas should have 2 locking nuts and an adjustable bolt in between them..... kinda like the front T/C Rods

not to hard once u play with it....

hmmm firestone by my house said the car was "set up perfectly"

lol i came in with 2.6 degrees of camber in my left rear corner, and left with 2.3 degrees, that doesnt sound perfect to me! im gonna manually get rid of some of that camber, and bring it back to them once its all closer to spec... lol... i cant believe they couldnt get it closer, hopefully they just had the new guy on it or something..

but the amazing part is my car made it on the rack! ;)

Man thats so true. I walked into Firestone two days ago to inquire about their lifetime alignment and and the service manager there gave me a 30min lecture on negative camber and vehicle alignment. The guy saw my silvia grill and just went off... he pulled out a motegi catalog under the desk, pointed to an eclipse and said that it was a silvia even though mitsubishi eclipse was clearly printed under the photo, and on top of that he said that the car was his! It was so funny I wanted to laugh so hard in is face but I did'nt. If you live in san diego go to Firestone on linda vista rd. I guarentee you will be laughing your ass off right after you leave the shop.
