my s13 wont start

This sucks my 91 240sx starts only when it feels like it i can push start it.
Ive checked the ign fuse the starter the battery and the ignition switch.
I'm so confused im thinkin i im gonna hafta tear apart the wire harness to find the problem can you guys throw some ideas so i wont hafta tear it apart please.

check all of your fuses.
check all of the connections going to the starter.
check your battery terminals and make sure they are making good contact with the battery and that they are clean, tight, and no corrosion.

I heard it could be the starter even if it tests fine so im just gonna go replace the starter and hopefully that works.

Yes my lights work and the stereo and the clock and even checked the battery.

check to see if the wires are connected properly.. and grounds grounded properly... pretty much just make sure all your wires and such are connected properly...


you look like a newbie so you most liklly just bought the car.... the last owner make have removed some stuff and not connected the connectors or anything all the way.... just make sure every thing is connected how it should... nice and snug before you waste your money on stuff you didnt need..

ok i had the car since july and its been runnin fine fine since then and i checked the connections andr the battery and the fuses and the relay and the clutch sensor nuthin is wrong that i see.

check the starter relay. That was what was wrong on mine. Rebuilt the starter and nothing. Replaced the starter and nothing. Removed the starter relay and jump the wires, and it starts.

Double check your ignition switch...specifically the START position on the switch. It's possible that you have a short inside the switch when the key is turned to the START position. The ignition switch will work fine on all the other positions BUT the START position. I had this problem on my 240 and replaced everything on the starter circuit before it dawned on me that the ignition switch was bad.
Anyhow...hope this helps...

fixed it it was the starter my boss told me his sons toyota truck had the same symptoms so i decided to give it a whirl and its fixed thanks for the info all hope this helps others out in the future.
