I'm going to be running 17X9 +35 all around on my S14 and am trying to figure out a good tire setup. I had originally planned for 255 rear, 235 front when i was going be running 17x8's up front, but now that I'm going to be running 17x9's up front, I don't know if I want stretched tires. I've heard stretched tires are bad in the wet. Can anyone point me to some useful information, I'm having trouble finding good reading on this.

yeah what Brian said.

I run the same set up. 215/45 on a 17x9. Works fine for me.

Stretch tires for a reason though, not cuz of the look.

Can anyone recommend a website that has information on the pros and cons of stretching tires? I don't know anything about it and Google hasn't turned up anything useful.

why would you want to run stretched tires if you dont know anything about it? Just wondering. I dont know know any site that would talk about stretched tires but search here on the forum. FA or something too. I know its been brought up a bunch of tires.

17x9 +35 up front? That's not gonna fit w/o a spacer....

Blah, yea I know, the gentlemen at SPL Parts have alerted me to this and advised me to go with an 17x8 +25 in the front.

I'm noobish at wheels and offets.

well if u wanna drag i wouldnt stretch tires.... stretched tires have less sidewall flex = easier to break em loose = going into a slide.

if you havent bought your wheels yet, i would advise you to re-think your offsets

http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=74689 look at his setup. IIRC you will need spacers all around to clear the suspension pieces, and maybe require some Luoiville slugger lovin' just look on the pics thread to learn more about offset and tires and such. Research does wonders when applied with effort.
