I'm new to the forum, and to 240sx. I was a DSM guy, and wanted something different from what everyone in my area has, so I got this. I do body work, so this won't take long to get going. I plan on putting a S14 Sr20 in it next year, and until then, I will prepair the chassis with coilovers, strut braces, wheels, and lsd.

Well let me know what you think of my new project car. Oh, I can't decide if I want to get a carbon hood, or a painted hood. I'd appreciate any input.

gee another person who got a 240sx to be 'different'.
it's deja vu all over again.

I only paid $2500 for it. The parts to repair it will cost me about $1500. As for me buying it to be different, I live in Nebraska and everyone has a honda, or dsm, I have never seen a S14 in the area, and the only S13s I've seen are all rusted out. Nobody around has a nice 240 so I'm being different from everyone in my area.

Yeah, it needs hood, left fender, both headlights, grille, front cover, front reinforcement bar, and radiator support. I got the new radiator support on today, now I have to wait for my other parts to come in from Nissan, they said they should arrive Friday or Monday.

The dsm was fun, but with the awd the tranny didn't hold up to the power I was putting to it. I got tired of replacing clutches, and 2 new trannys later, I got rid of it. I think this is going to be alot more fun anyways. All I know is that I gotta make it faster than my buddies turbo Type-R.

I stated my plans for the car in my first post.
Thanks for the compliments.

thats not bad for the price u paid. the cost of fixing it will not come close to the price of a "shark face" s14 goes for. good luck with the project.

I've noticed a lot of DSM guys going to 240's not just recently but I mean in general. I had 3 dsm's before my 240. I know a couple other guys too.

Why didn't you get the tranny built by Shep or TRE?

Car looks nice asside from the front of course. Good luck fixing her up!

Well, I didn't have the money for that on the first tranny, and the second one was replaced when I was ginna sell it, so I couldn't justify spending the extra cash just to get rid of her.

I'll post pics as soon as I get the 240 going.

if you want pics of what the VIS hood looks on the kouki, pm me, I have the exact same color as yours Kuoki, lol.

Looking at the hood like that reminded me of my accident, ahhh the tent shaped hood brings back memories.

To bad it has a salvage title (since it looks like you bought it from a yard), but sinces its a Kouki, I wouldn't care. Air bags blow? Keep the color and get that fixed. Lucky guy!!!

Kouki
03-12-2005, 09:21 AM
Yeah, it does have a salvage title. The bags are ok, it was a pretty light hit. The title doesn't bother me, almost every car I've had was salvage. You get alot more car for the money that way.

make it a zenki front end...not only will you save more money.... but it will look better.. (IMO!!!!! it looks better... so dont tell me im wrong newbs)

I dont know how it is where you live but if you have a salvage title dont you get f'ed with insurance?
Also, have you looked at your frame? With a collision like that, i'd be scurred of what your frame looks like.. strange how the front bumper is intact..
But i like the uh color.

Kouki
03-12-2005, 03:48 PM
Yeah the frame is perfect. I have 5 years of body shop work under my belt, so I kinda know what to look for. They must have rear ended a pickup or suv as the majority of the damage is above the bumper. There is no problem getting insured, or licensed with salvage titles.
