Okay, well all know shifters are interchangable between SR and KA... but will S13 shifters work in an S14 SR/KA? I don't see why not, but I've heard that S14 shifters have a larger diameter shift knob thread, so WTF?

from a sales site regarding the B&M:
"The B&M Nissan 240SX short shifter is set up to use the stock boot and shift knob or most of the custom boots and knobs on the market."
The part number is the same for years "88-99", whatever that means.

The reason I ask, is I have a s15 shift knob, I can get a converter for the proper thread pitch (I don't like that idea, too many parts that could move, plus I'd never get the thing perfectly straight). The other option being to get a S14 short shifter and put the S15 knob on (much nicer install), as I've read numerous posts that say the S15 knob will fit the S14 shifters, no prob.

There seems to be some inconsistency... somewhere, someone is mis-informed (besides me) :/
Bottom Line: Can I put a S14 shifter into my S13 SR? AND will my S15 shift knob fit?

KA/SR/CA/RB20/VG30E 5speed shifters are all the same. The S15 uses a larger 14mm thread though, so just get an adapter for your existing shifter. An S14 one will be the same.

are you sure the S15 uses a 14mm thread? I thought it was 12mm?

Yes its 12mm. I have a 6 speed and it is 12mm. :wiggle:

yes it is. I can not fit 10mm in 6 speed.
