REF ticket

im sure its been answered but i couldnt find specifics when i searched. i was told that if you have an SR20DET and get a state ref ticket ( and of course they fail you), you can go to a test only facility, provding they illegally pass you, and get the engine signed off and the state ref doesnt have to see the car and everything is cool

Once you take your car to a ref, and you fail, all other smog stations are locked out from testing your car. Assuming you have modified your car though.

uhhhh when you get a state ref ticket you can only go to the state ref which means instant fail. First off you have an illegal motor in your car. Second it will not pass because of high emissions and wrong motor size and this and that which is also looked up during testing and blah blah. Where in the hell did you get the notion that you had to go to a test only station? Thats some off the wall shit. If you got a ticket that says " GO TO SMOG REF" is that in some way translated to "YOU CAN ALSO GO TO TEST ONLY STATION"? you get a ticket that says only "go to state ref" you only go there. They are harsh and do not tolerate any kind of illegal or anything that is not smog legal. I've been to a smog ref twice in 6 years. Not fun.

u know i do not permit violence, but i do have urgencies to heat a metal rod and jab it into someone's thigh just for kicks...i use to live is socal.....didnt like it there much.. to many cocky ppl manfesting themselves from a certain import movie.. that had neon lights under black civic's w/ wings so huge it made the car 1/8" lower....

if u dont want problems with a ref dont mod ur car!!!! its that easy...

well if you took to see past the neon , youd understand that lots of us arent cocky, and tastefully mod our cars. afterall SoCal is the tuning capital of the US. And sure, everywhere you go there are gonna be posers, just so happens we have a car culture here so you see more. when i worked at GUMBALL3000 i got to meet a lot of people who are at the center of the aftermarket world who make it possible for you to "tastefully mod" your ride. hey what do you know, all centered in SoCal!

as far as my ref question, if you dont like the thread or think its stupid dont bash it. as for modding your car without fearing the ref it can be done-- i did it for two years with my last car.
