I have searched and seen a few negative remarks made about this kit, which kind of puts me off but if you check the link they say this kit comes with earls lines and fittings? Would this make it worth while buying. And if so what size would I get for an S14 sr20det?. :boink:

Those things blow up alot of motors, however most of them are ok.

the earls lines that are included dont use an fittings, they use nipple- hose clamps, they tend to leak the smallest amount to the point that at high rpm/ oil pressure they will suck up a tiny amount of air. This is bad, not initially but after a couple months of doing so it will kill the motor.

I had been running a gofrk and it worked fine, but after i blew up 6 motors i decided to try it without it, and i havent blown anything up. I thre my gofrk away.

might want to check out canton racing products http://www.cmfilters.com/tech.cfm

You'll need this adapter

this sick ass filter

and some AN fitting lines to connect the two.

replacement filters are 12 dollars +/- each, but canton racing suggests they only need to be changed every 10,000 street miles.

I would be scared pirates might mistake that oil filter for hidden treasure when popping the hood! :D Crazy looking thing.

Might as well keep it simple and stay with the stock filter sounds like the smart thing to do.

Cheers guys

Sr motors with a boost up loose all there power because of oil temp, oil relocation adds a little oil capacity, which helps cooling, and a greddy oil pan is an absulute must for gripping.

Just get a gofrk and use the adapter to plumb an fc3s oil cooler later on.

The greddy oil pan my it self should do the job should it not? It gives you another litre or so I thought?

THe greddy oil pan does help with cooling do to a capacity increase, but the best thing on the greddy pan, is the 2 trap doors inside that keep the oil near the pickup while cornering hard. If any of you have oil pressure guages, and a stock pan, then do a track day and you can watch your pressure drop in the corners. This is bad.

But no, a oil pan will not make as much of a difference as an oil cooler.

Just get one from a 300z, or from a fc3s like i did.

Alot cheaper too.

figure max would be $75 for either cooler. then $50 for the lines, and $30 for the oil filter bracket adapter.

I am just going to use the bracket from my gofrk with an fittings.

Another good option but kind of pricey is the Sunline Oil Distribution block that phase2 sells. It replaces the hole oil filter block so you don't have to run a twist on setup.

No problem. You can also get oil cooler cores from summit racing for around $75 new.

You would still need the adapter and such though. :ugh:
