Ok, I have this really annoying rumble around 50mph (47-53). I put new tires on around 4k miles ago but this still didn't help. I actually think it made it worse. I am wondering if my bushings are bad on my tie rods or some other suspension part. Would an alignment help? I don't see how this could help much cause it is only occuring at a certain speed.

A broken hanger on your exhaust piping.. try checking that..

Well, i sounds more like it is coming from the front, like it sounds like the tires have a lot of road noise. but I don't think it is my tires because I changed those and it didn't help much. Thats why I am thinking it must be some suspension part cause it also makes my car vibrate a little at that speed.

maybe you got a bent wheel or 2

Well, when I had that problem, it was the tires. Replaced em and all was good again.

But, I suppose the brake rotors could also cause a similar problem if they were'nt worn evenly or if something happened to them to make them not spin true. I think a frined on mine had that problem and it was related to the brakes.

warped rotors would do that...but this rumbling is not under braking

what kind of tires do you have? have you locked your brakes for an extended period of time at all in the past?

you may have a flat spot in your tires

If it's at a certain speed, more than likely it's something rotating like a brake rotor, wheel bearing, or wheel that is out of balance. Is the rumbling coming from the front or back? Also resonance from the engine might cause something to resonate at certain RPMs, so make note of your RPM at 50mph, and try the same RPM at lower gears. Check also for any body parts that might flapping at high speed (eg. wipers, etc).

I got Fuzion ZRi 225/50/16 tires. Yeah, its definately coming from the front. But its not dependant on RPM's cause I did like you said at first to see if it was. It is solely from that speed. I don't have any flat spots either. I'm just gonna try rotating my tires and see if that helps.

redline: you got that fixed yet?

i got the same problem... at ~90-100km/h on the highway (about 55mph...), not below, not as much shaking above that speed either. i also changed my wheels recently, used ones, and it happened after i did that. rumbling seems to be coming from the front, and the steering wheel would shake quite a bit. quite nerve-racking...

tension rod bushings.

Could be wheel bearing, static or dynamic balance out, radial runout, or something completely different.

Sorry to crush your spirits but there is no such thing as warped rotors...Its thickness variation on a floating caliper assembly...
